is my pup an English Mastiff

IMAG0503.jpg IMAG0499.jpg IMAG0499.jpg meet Bindi. I got her at 11 weeks after the original owner got rid of her after having her for 3 weeks, the lady assured me that she was English mastiff and that she'd seen both parents . She's now 6 months old. Top of the class in her puppy obedience class, but pig headed and stubborn outside. She likes to lie or sit on me at every opportunity!! Another thing I've noticed that when the evening starts drawing in she starts barking at more things (we are out in the garden almost all day everyday at the moment so I see the change about 6-7pm) some people have said she doesn't look like a mastiff so wanted some experienced people's thoughts.

Beautiful pup... i am no expert.... but I have never seen an Enlish Mastiff with such a small head. This pup does not favor a Mastiff to me at all, but I can be wrong. My dog is 14 months old and everyone believes he is a Cand Corso ( Italian Mastiff). I had a dna test done and found out both parents were CC, BUT.... the grandparents were mixed with English Mastff, Neopoltian Mastiff, Boxer, and Cane Corso..... so sometimes you never know... i saw both parents to.... needless to say I was shocked...

That‘s a good looking dog. As Patrick mentioned, most likely she is not a purebred English Mastiff. Could very well be a Mastiff mix and the behavior you are describing aligns with Mastiff characteristics as well.
Did you see the pictures of the parents? Not sure if the lady had actual knowledge of dogs or if she just confused them for English Mastiffs.

I don't think the lady I got her from had a clue! No I never saw a picture of the parents

Her colour is what seems off to me. My male EM had a fairly small head and was skinny for most of his puppy hood. His head and neck in fact were the last parts to stop growing. So her head while small doesn't scream not EM to me but she looks like she is almost a solid colour and black is not a solid in the EM. Kryten for lighter as he got older because his fawn stripes got wider but he did have them when young.

I think I see brindle. It's the head that throws me off. The overall head shape doesn't look overly mastiff to me. Not that it matters. She's a beautiful, big girl and is going to be a great companion for you.

Yes she is gorgeous in every way, well maybe not the snoring and farting! thank-you. She is dark brindle. My phone isn't very good for pictures

Snoring and farting. She's definitely got mastiff in her. Maybe boxer too, lol. I have a mastiff and boxers and my house is a toxic wasteland of gas. (I don't actually see any boxer.)

I see more mastiff in the above picture. I have no doubt there's some EM in her. She's a very pretty girl.

Her bottom lips are starting to droop now. She's just interrupted our painting by enthusiastically coming for a cuddle
