Hello everybody I just started an account just to ask others opinion on what’s going on with our 2 year old cane corso that we’ve had since she was 3 months old. In the last week she has lunged at two children around the age 5. They were running next to our kids 4 and 9. I don’t know if she thinks they might have been in danger or not. But it’s rather upsetting. She always goes everywhere with us and is very friendly to kids and adults never once growled at anyone out side of our fence, if she barks at someone and they come in the barking stops and she greets them happily waiting to get pet. She’s been to kids birthday parties with kids running all around when she was younger without any sign of aggression. If my wife and I take her out on the town, She wont even look at another dog and they can be a foot away. If my kids are with us sometimes she barks and growls. Today we took her to a family gathering and everybody there asked to pet her, all the kids pet her she seemed to enjoy it wagging her tail and generally looked happy, At one point the kids were playing and they ran by with my kids, Luna growled and went to lunge at the little girl, This is what happed last week a boy was running with my son and she growled and lunged. I don’t know if there was any intention of biting or not but she has never done this. Kids have come and played in our yard many times and Luna generally shows no interest in them. I just don’t know what to. I thought I was doing everything right and trying to keep her social as much as possible. I feel like I don’t ever want her around kids again. The only things that changed is she has been going to a few vet appointments and getting left with them and she has become very scared because a few times I had to leave her. Now she been scared to get out of the car when I go other places. Today she was glued to me wouldn’t leave my feet she’d sit right on them.Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

This could be a fear stage, her gaurding is setting in, or like you said shes had a few changes at the moment.
Firstly iv had 4 ccs so this is just how id deal with it and my experience of the breed.
You dont train a cc how to gaurd, you train them what you expect of them, if she is over gaurding you correct this, you keep her near snd you watch for what shes over reacting to and correct her with a firm no, dont hold tention on her lead, especially if your a bit worried, be confident your in charge. She needs to see if your ok eith the surroundings she can be, also hyped kids at a party can be over whelming if shes going through a fear stage.
Shes looking at you for guidance, do training with her, get her to stay, go out of sight come back massive praise if shes ok.
Im sure she will be fine, give her time, correct bad behaviour as normal.
