Ideas for long term boarding

Howdy all! It's been at least year since my last post. The pup continues to be the love of my life/pain in my butt. This January he developed massive separation anxiety which manifests itself by him going absolutely nuts if we leave him for any length of time. Lot of damage to our stuff etc. My wife is at wits end trying to manage him, especially with twin toddlers taking up a lot of her attention. So, I have switched jobs and will take a job that allows me to work from home (he wasn't he sole reason for my switch but it was a definite plus) The downside is that I have to travel across the country and stay in NYC for 12 weeks starting September before setting up at home. In order for my wife to not go insane here trying to juggle the kids and the dog we are sending her back home to her parents (a flight to south America is cheaper than insane San Francisco childcare prices).

Anyway, I'm left trying to figure out what to do with Lambeau for 4-8 weeks. His dog walker will housesit for some of that time. Every kennel in the bay area has requested that he NEVER return. They always tried a very stern no nonsense approach to meeting him and he simply barked at them until they expelled him. So my only options are Board and Train facilities that say they will take him for around zllion dollars a month!

He is almost 4, is a stereotypical TM who was under-trained by a naïve first time owner (me, though we have done a 180 degree turn on this in the last year), loves all animals, wary of strangers, mainly men) but falls in love easily after 2nd visit. Anybody on the West Coast have any ideas? Know of anyone that wants to make some extra money for a few weeks watching a pup. It's not an ideal situation I know, but its a short term roadblock that enables us to have me spend more time training him the right way. When we got him we were expecting him to live on a huge ranch in Uruguay with 5 other dog and not a cramped row house in SF with twin boys. Thought I would throw that out there to this group. You have all been so helpful in the past! Thank you!

We're trying. It isn't easy because we only know city people and everyone thinks their house is too small for him.

I would look for folks who do in home boarding. Also check with some of the west coast TM breeders, they may be willing to work out something for you and at least they,d understand TMs!
