I decided to get a Boerboel!

Exactly what i wanted to hear, that's amazing. Mooshi's i'd love some info on the Akita, Temperament, shedding, protectiveness, are they more independent than dependent? Sociability, Strength, all that stuff. I haven't totally said no to an akita, but if i had to get a pup i'd probably go with a mastiff breed.

I finally will get my boerboel in about 8 weeks. Sent my deposit and can't wait to get him home. I have been researching this breed for over a year and finally the day is coming. I started off looking at Cane Corso's but the Boerboel got my attention with their stature and grace. I visited over 10 breeders and numerous phone calls before I decided to go with a breeder in northeastern ohio. Looking forward to my journey with this dog.

Mike i want a Large Boerboel, if i'm too get one, while i want a male, i'd like a dog much larger than my golden retriever who is 21-23 inches at the withers. He's 73 pounds, and is kinda small in my perspective. I love mastiffs, and they are high up there, i'm deciding between them, presa's, Dogo's. Do you mind if i ask how large jade is? And the Average height for a male? I'd love some info.

The one standing up is beautiful, and Marstin is by far a machine. That's what i love about the Boerboel, they are just massive. I think a Presa may be too much for a first mastiff breed. I think it would be good to say that a bb fit's my lifestyle, i'm sure jade can keep up on a evening jog around the park. Are the Females much smaller than males?

The one standing is Marstin, the one sitting is Jade's sister Sadie.
Right now Jade might poop out on a short jog she is still out of shape from her elbow injury but is recovering fast. Yesterday we did 15 minutes of fast flirt pole work and she wanted to keep going.
Yes, females are about 20 to 30% smaller overall. Marstin is a big dog with a hard drive. Not sure of his stamina but I have watched him play with the energy of a much smaller dog.

:I well i'm gonna wait a year about, probably just going to get a Boerboel. Large, ears don't have to be cropped to get the look, guarding. Is Marstin Jade's Dad? Have any other pics of her large sister? Is the Dane fully grown? I can't get around too how big they are.

Marstin is the brother, the sister is the same size as Jade. Dane is 16 months old, she will get a little bigger.

Just meant Marstin is bigger, not the other female on the pic. And wow is she big! Jade is massive, when it comes to head size wow. I think that's enough bugging you about Jades family tree, hahaha. I'll give it a year and see what happens, getting way over my head right now, don't think i'm ready for another pup.

Primehns I wanted to stress that bigger is not always better. I personally would not want a BB over the 150lb mark. I am really hoping that Pan matures under that, which he probably will since his breeding was to produce athletic dogs. His dad and mom are both around the 140lb mark

Jade's mom and dad were of average size, under 160LB. Jade is 125, Marstin 165/75, Shelby (Female) 135/40, Sadie (f) 115lb. All these pups are only 16.5 months so potentially will add on 10 to 15 more lbs at maturity. You never know what size a BB will be by looking at the parents.
