How to search for a trainer/behaviorist

Does anyone have a resource for finding trainers/behaviorists in their areas? I have located a "puppy class" near me which we are using and there are a couple of "board and trains" in my general area - I will NOT board. So what I am really looking for are trainers who will work with me and my puppy who are specifically equipped in understanding, managing and training my CC.

Oh geez, I didn't see this. I wouldn't do a board and train either. When you're choosing a trainer, make sure that you don't just book a class based on the website info. Ask to sit in on a class or two without your dog. Particularly one for something like loose leash walking. Sometimes the actual methods used in class are very different than what's stated online or over the phone.

Here's a link to finding a behaviorist. I don't know where you're located, but if you're anywhere in Illinois I have a great one to recommend... I can also to a little searching for a trainer if you'd like to share your location.
