What a sweetheart. Not only is she beautiful, but stylish. :) How old is she? I love dogs who show their age in their sugar faces.

I had a black Great Dane male a few years back, miss that dog like crazy. Now I have two blue German Mastiffs Thor and Little bit ( Stone), Thor is my heart dog. Little bit is a pain right now.

Beautiful pups, Grazeful!

I don't have one now, our GD , Dylan, died this past March at the age of seven from complications of Degenerative Myelopathy. I have much better pics somewhere, but con't find them. Prior to that we kept both GDs and IWHs for over two decades. Dylan1.jpg

DD, thank you! Yes, he had substance, conformation and beautiful show markings. I'll try to rummage around and find my pics that do him justice.

Oooo, would love to see more pictures, I'm not a big fan of the "American" type personally but I admit Dylan was certainly quite the head turner. Judging from the photo. o_O

Oak Hill, actually me too, I don't know why for some reason I've really taken an interest in IWH. Only seen one in person in my lifetime. The owner also had danes, LOL, that giant dog fever is catching.

DD, are German Mastiffs and Great Danes two separate breeds? I can't seem to find anything about it online.

kk, I will happily post some pics of our current IWH, Ike, and our next to last, Zorro -- who was bred by the Gulliagh kennels in Ireland. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. He was a handsome GD! I lost my Siberian Husky to the same disease.

Depends on who you ask, LOL! Joking aside in all honesty no, it's the same breed with different names. However because of the interpretation of the standard between US and Europe you'd think they were. When I tell people I have Great Danes, looking at Thor and Stone people don't/can't see it. Also there are some "extremists" in the breed who don't believe that Europe has "true" danes. So to avoid the confusion I call my " giant, bloodhound, neo mixes" AKA "European" dogs by the same name they do in Europe.

It shouldn't be that way but you know how politics can be......
