Hip Scores

We had Hank's blood panel and genetic testing done on the day we did his ear crop. I was wondering at what age we should have his hips xrayed in order to obtain his pennhip score? I have heard varied responses ranging from 7 months - 2 years. Some even say it's not accurate when done too young.

You can do PennHip any time after 4 mths and not have them change a huge amount but the closest to 2 or later (depends on your contract with your breeder too so check and see what it says) as he will be more mature and at that point you can pretty much say they are what they are.
