Help- I’m worried about my dog

Hello,

Yesterday, my dog woke up and started walking towards the door; as she was walking her tail started doing this strange winding wag like it went in completely random directions and was low. We called her name but it didn’t stop for about half a minute. Looking online all we keep seeing is mini stroke but it isn’t the same as that description. Can you help?

I can’t help you but others may be able to if you list any other symptoms she may have. Eating drinking normally? Regular breathing?
Is it possible the dog was un-stable after being asleep? When mine gets up after a heavy sleep he can be off balance and disoriented at first.
How old is she?

No other symptoms and she is eating and drinking regularly. Could well be that she was a bit disorientation, thank you hopefully that is the case. She’s 2 and a half.

I understand your concern. First thing - if you're still worried (and even if you aren't) I would contact the vet and get their opinion. I would keep notes on any odd behaviors, including any incidents of staring off. Hopefully this was a one time thing and it never happens again.
