  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Dear Friends, I've been off the Forum for quite a while and I have missed all of you. I love the new format, but I don't see a lot of traffic yet. I was having so much trouble with virus warnings and being dragged off to adult pages that I finally gave up. I'm so glad that Vicki and the team have brought us all back together.

Blessings on you all... Let's Talk. So much to tell you about Bailey and the many changes here...so many questions to ask, like, "How are you?", multiplied by all of you, which is a lot of typing and reading, but, I'm ready. SO...How Are All of You?

Hi Bailey's mom! Glad to see you back. Yes many of us had to stop visiting until Vicki and team got things fixed up again. So glad it is up and running again and we are slowly but surely seeing people trickle back in from what I can tell. :-D

I'm so excited, Nik, I've felt really cut off. I'm going to have to update everything. Bailey has finally grown into her head...big and impressively thick...bigger neck, too. And we finally had her spade when a cancer threat loomed. Everything is fine now, but the lump around her nipple might have progressed if the hormones were driving it. She was a trooper and came through with flying colors. Thank God.

I saw your post about the election. Bailey climbed up on the bed and curled up under my arm with her head on my chest. She never gets this cuddly, so I must have been giving off extreme vibes. You can P.M. me if you want to talk. So good to hear from you.

I am really looking forward to seeing the new pictures of Bailey and hearing all the stories. I am so glad to hear that Bailey came through the cancer scare and is doing well. <3

I would love to chat pm anytime. :) I am proudly wearing my safety pin today and am armed with extra for anyone I come across who would like one.

Heck, I posted to what I thought was a private P.M. How do we have private conversations now? And, yes, I'm wearing my "safety pin" Oh, how I hope we are safe! My heart bleeds for my American neighbors. We hoped for a kinder future with real growth and now...fear. Canadians, by and large, are content to be part of a melting pot, or as we say, a "mosaic" of people. No one left behind...all have a voice. But, don't give up...never give up. Exercise your constitutional right to protest and to civil disobedience. If you don't use it, You Will Lose It.
Some man came into the store a few days ago and said he thought Hitler should have won. I was horrified. These are not sentiments that are well received here. I said, "My father and five of my uncles, all fought in WWII, to stop such a man." He raced out of the store. Horrible. Horrible. It shook me.

I'm sorry that I was so...upset, but I'm still so shook up. I understand that half the country, or rather, just short of half the country really likes this guy, so, political correctness will have to become the behavior to adopt... Yes, adopt a wait and see...and Pray. Thanks for listening. Enough.

I was looking for some of my old posts, like a post about a poem I wrote called Ode to a Mastiff. I used to be able to find it just by going to Google, and then I could back door into the Forum and avoid all the virus and porn stuff, but now it's gone. I couldn't even find the one I wrote about our Beagle. I'm going to have to learn this site over from scratch. My old P.M.'s are missing...etc., What is your understanding about what was kept and what was lost? OR, is it lost?

I am still very upset about it also but I have decided to use it as an indication that I need to take more direct action then just voting. I plan to volunteer for organizations that represent the sort of change I want to see in the world like ACLU. If I want things to be better I am willing to work and fight for it.

I don't know what is kept or lost from the old site. Maybe one of the admins can answer that :)

I'm with you, Nik, and I'm going to donate to those agencies that will protect and support people's constitutional rights. I watched Bill Maher last night and one of his guests suggest that donating to the ACLU and other agencies would give them the war chest they need for the upcoming battles that were sure to come. Count me in! I also agree with Colbert, don't run to Canada (but your are most welcome), stay and fight for the best and most awe inspiring traits that Americans have...Greatness is in each of you. It was in the American people when they reached for the stars, and Hillary Clinton was right, you should be the leaders in Solar and Wind!!! Yes, you Can! Don't allow yourselves to devolve into dark minded cavemen, reach up for the light. Reach out like you did in the 60's: Lead the World.

There's a line in the Bible that goes something like this: My people die for the lack of a vision for their future. Think Big, Think Positive, Think Productively... Think in the way that Americans do Best....Amaze Us.

Have you ever seen the movie "The American President?" I'll try to post the link to the speech Michael Douglass gives near the end. He's addressing a bully and he's talking about American values, virtues and the value of American citizenship. It's beautiful! It's bang on. Watch it on You Tube.

Hello fellow Canadian,

I think a lot of us are a little shell shocked by the results, both on this side of the border and most definitely on the other side.

We live in times of uncertainty, and time alone will tell what the cosequences of this election will be, sigh....

Warm regards,

~Elana~

Welcome back and sorry about the delay, licenses and plug ins cost a little bit, and finding someone to help was a bit of trial and error! St@ffy is onboard now and is taking care of the technical issues.

Bailey's Mom - Thank you so much for the kind words. They actually made me a little misty eyed over here. :) These are scary times and my faith took a bit of a beating last week but for every terrible story I hear of hate crimes there are another ten of kind loving people looking out for one another and fighting for the rights of their neighbors who look different, pray different and love different. I am clinging to the fact that those people, the kind, loving, determined ones are out there and that we are in greater numbers and have a greater determination.

John Oliver also did a wonderful piece on it and gave a nice list of organizations to donate time and money to. I haven't seen Maher's piece yet but it is on my dvr and I will definitely be watching it.
