Health, Temperament and the Veteran Breeder

Hi,
I'm about 8 months into my search for a new dog. I am looking at a Bullmastiff for our next dog. It is a breed that has a number of veteran women breeders. I thought it would be a good idea to start my search with them. My reasoning is that the veteran breeder has had time to breed out a lot of the health and temperament problems that can affect the breed. And at the end of the day aren't they the 2 most important things when getting a puppy/dog? Any thoughts?

I would suggest the advantage to a veteran breeder is a track record of whatever it is they are producing. just cause they have been around for a while doesn't mean they have done anything good with that time, what it should mean is that what you are seeing consistently is what you can expect from something they produce in the future, for better or worse.
