Yes I was pretty careful in my wording of the contract. Now it looks like his back is roached (hump back) or a very bad topline. I don't know if being thin will cause this or if it is from the pain and bruised ribs.

Oh, Mike, I'm so sorry. I vote "NO!" Keep Khan safe. This person starved...STARVED your boy. Abuse and neglect are evident. Talk to the authorities, there should be an investigation and perhaps charges, no one should get away with this type of behaviour.

Please...please take him to the vet and get him assessed. He's been very abused.

Oh now I don't think it's that bad. I think just some neglect from a girl that was struggling to make it in the world. She had gone out of town and left her 2 dogs in the care of someone else and that's when they got in the fight. But still I see scars from other fights so I am not going to let her take him back.

I'm glad you feel that way, Mike. I was going to say that I don't really see signs of abuse. He's thin, but he's not emaciated. And as someone who owns a boxer that's skin and bones despite eating more than my EM, I think it's always best to rule out other causes before jumping to conclusions. Still - I'm glad you won't be letting him go back.

The roached back could be him holding himself in a odd position due to pain. It also can be more prominent on underweight dogs. He is thin but not horrible. Has he been to the vet yet? He should get a full checkup and it will also be a good record if you even need proof of his returned state.

I am going to give him a few days before the vet. Nothing going on with him is life threatening and the swellings in his leg are almost gone this morning and he was playing with the others last night before bed. He actually looks like he might have gained a pound or 2 already.

He acts like he is starving all the time and nearly takes off fingers when hand fed. He also is resource guarding. I put 2 cups of kibble, and egg 2 ounces of pork and a chicken leg in a bowl last night and it took him about 20 seconds to clean the bowl and he went after the other dogs foods. I had to restrain him and eventually just gave him another packet of food to settle him down. As soon as I am able I will have him checked for parasites and have his overall health checked.

Well Khan has put on a couple pounds already and his leg is getting better. Me and the buyer had a chat about everything and she agrees and understands why Khan can not go back with her. The multiple scars, not enough food and care. I told her that her current life situations were not beneficial to him and that she brought him back to me just in time. I also got on her about his nails never having been trimmed. Looks like his back is leveling out a little but i went back and looked at all his photos and I can see he never had a good topline since the beginning but it might look exaggerated from him being underweight.
