  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

This is my "collector" piece. While being collectible it's also my go to hunting rifle and was a hand me down from my Grandfather. There is more emotional value in this rifle then there is monetary. I love how I can basically still see my Grandpa's finger prints in the bluing. I've seen more game downed with this rifle than honestly I care to admit. It's not in beautiful condition. It's in fighting condition ;)

Its a Savage Model 99f, lever action, chambered in .308 win., serial beginning in 959---. This was made before the marked decline in the quality of arms that come from the company. It holds 5+1 and actually has an indicator that tells you how many rounds are left in the rotary mag.

The last one is what I can do from the Prone position with a slight crosswind @100 yards.

Where I live you can't get a ccw permit yet so when I do carry it is discreet I carry a 44 special 2.5 inch 5 shot revolver.
When they start issuing cw permits it will be a 1911

Just recently picked this up for 3gun competition - Winchester SXP Marine Defender...

...and for the same reason, a new holster for the Sig, customized for the rail+light.

Dang man pump for 3 gun? Don't have the skill myself. I'll stick with the Benelli. My Pops can run his Remington 870 pretty good though. Loves to talk smack cause what slack I gain with shotty he makes up for with pistol. Still loads of fun though. In my defence, I haven't carried the same pistol with me since 87... I was born in 86 lol. Also depends on the stage if we have to reload or not. Reload = I lose 90% time.

Revolvers are great! Doesn't get much more reliable. Good for shooting next to someone and keeping your casings to yourself too ;)

I'm spoiled with my polymer. To lazy lazy to carry anything full size or all metal. When it's open carry time though I like to bring out the Beretta 92fs. Mine is only a couple years old but my dad has carried the same one since '87.

Just about everyone uses pumps up here for 3 gun - they're cheap and we're not overly competitive, mostly just an excuse from some good ol' boys to get together and play with guns LOL. My own skill level leans more towards just dumping mags instead of driving tacks!

If that's anything like my winchester pump gun then it kicks like a mule! Painfull to shoot, we shoot it with low recoil ammo.

Dumping mags can be fun! My problem is everytime I pull the trigger all i hear is $.50, $.50, $.50 lol

In my experience the heavier shotguns seem to kick a lot less. Or you just don't feel it as much. We used to have this old "squirrel" gun it was a break action, side by side, 12g. Wasn't to much to it and it translated that kick pretty good.

Yeah my son loves to bump fire the AR's and Mini 14's I'm paying the bills so I'm glad we are only allowed 10 round mags lol

It's not too bad with 7.5 target loads, but I'm not a small guy either :)

Same reason why I prefer heavier metal frame pistols over the plastic fantastics - less recoil and easier to keep on target. As for the price of ammo, I just try not to think about that part LOL

My other half has been talking about getting an AR-15 since we moved to AZ, and he used the excuse that we are moving a whole 5 minutes outside town to convince himself that now was the time. I am happy that he finally got one, but holy cow is 5.56 ammunition expensive. We purchased 2 additional 30 round magazines and just the thought of firing all that ammunition hurts the wallet.

I will say, we moved from Massachusetts, which is a right to be a victim state, to AZ. I could not be happier. I just cannot wrap my head around the idea that you are not allowed to legally protect yourself and you would end up getting more jail time than the person assaulting you.

I have to say reloading is prob the only affordable way to really blow through rounds. That's if you want to do the initial investment in a quality press to help relieve the tedium. It's almost like therapy though once you get in a groove.

AR 15 is a good platform. Be happy he settled for the .556, the 7.62 is even more per round. I have an extra lower receiver I bought from Palmetto State for like $50. Was going to do a budget build but I've been slacking. It's hard to build a budget build. You know the parts are gonna work, but it sure as hell won't be a Geissele trigger =(

I caught the bug when I went shopping with him. There was a really nice looking Ruger, the SR1911. I really liked the feel and look, but will likely go with a Sig Sauer pistol for myself. I keep hearing they are a better choice than the Ruger.

I have several Rugers both handguns and long guns, all are quality guns but the Ruger 1911 is overpriced in my opinion, you can get a semi custom 1911 for the same price.
I've been amassing parts to build my wife an AR15, just ordered a complete piston upper tonight so when it arrives I could put together a fully functional carbine however she wants it to be different so I'm going to have the upper, lower, barrel and buffer tube Cerecoated blue leaving the stock, hand guard, grip and muzzle device black. Should be a pretty cool carbine when we get it all put together with a Vortex red dot sight.

All 1911's are overpriced imo. It's like buying a harley. You are buying a name, an idea. Not necessarily what your money's worth. I know guys prob punch me in the mouth for saying that out loud and within reach lol. To each their own.

Nothing wrong with being tacti-cool. I'm more of a function over form type of person. Def don't walk around in vests that scream look at me I'm carrying!

When I'm carrying most times I wear a tactical vest but not to be cool.
I have no hips, never really did so when I wear a belt holster it falls down, I have the same issue with pants lol.
A shoulder holster or vest is what I have to use to carry my side arms except for my stubby 44
