Ghost of those we love

Our first CC died very suddenly, it was heart-breaking. She was the princess of the house, and the only dog in the house. Was she SPOILED! When she passed, we framed her paw print, with her collar and tags and have it hanging in our house. We've had, even when she was with us, a 3 print frame of her in our hallway. There are 3 pictures in this frame, one when she was a puppy and 2 when she was older.

A few months after she passed we got our 2nd CC. A couple of months after we got our 2nd CC, in the middle of the night we heard a loud bang. We ran out into the hallway and her picture (the one with 3 pictures) was on the floor. That is the first time in over 6 years that has happened.

We didn't know what to think of it, but knew we would always miss our girl and went back to bed. About a month and a half later, the exact same thing happened, in the middle of the night. We ran out into the hallway and that same picture was on the floor. This time it had broken.

Could it be? Princess coming back to tell us she's still here?

Maybe she wants her picture in a more central location?

When we've lost our dogs, we've always known in our hearts what they'd want us to do - find another puppy to share our love with. Our dogs fill us with so much love, each one adding to the next, that there's too much not to share with a new pup.

I'm thinking she wants her picture closer to where she can oversee the new puppy's going-ons. Or maybe she wants an 8x10 or larger canvas print? :)

I'd say there are so many things that we just cannot currently explain, it's more than plausible. While I respect the opinion of those who might not believe in an afterlife - the fact is that there is no way to either prove or disprove such belief systems and in my opinion there's much more evidence that points to the fact that life continues on rather than it ends as in the Bible, "near" death experiences, and millions of reported spiritual-type connections such as you experienced. I'd say your much-loved girl is well & still walks with you each day...she simply has decided to let you know it!

Absolutely!

My first cat, who passed away at the ripe old age of 19, sometimes walks across my bed at night just like she used to do when she was with me. I love it!

I love you Millie!

Absolutely for me, as well! When our GD, Dylan, developed Degenerative Myelopathy, I became friends with a woman on another forum who had recently gone through this horrible disorder with her dog. During this period, her husband passed. She told me how he would leave signs for her -- hearts and bright new pennies. When Dylan died (fortuitously at home in his sleep), she assured me he was being cared for by her husband, who would, no doubt, leave me signs. About a week later, I found a bright shiny new penny by my side of the bed. Since then, I find a new penny every few months. I should mention we are a completely 'plastic' household. No one carries around money of any denomination.

Oh you all are so wonderful! We ended up re-framing the picture and hanging it again - no more night time disturbances. Once we get the bedroom painted, I would like to hang it in there. Although, it's hanging right over all of the trim she used to chew on when she was a puppy - so maybe it's in her 'play zone' and her zoomies were knocking it over!! I do tend to think she's still wandering around with us.
