A buddy I grew up with, now living in Peru; he and his friends down there commonly use Dogo's as catch dogs for wild boar.

According to the Texas Wildlife Association the feral hog population in Texas was 2.6 Million in 2010. In 2015 is estimated to be 5.3 million. They cause $52,000,000 in agricultural damages annually in Texas. It is a huge problem and unfortunately hunting can't keep up with the population growth. They actually recommend trapping to get the whole herd/family unit, whatever they call a big group of pigs! I'm not a hunter but I think there is always open season for wild boar, I think they will actually pay you for them if you bring them in on the hoof.

There are a few videos on youtube of hog hunting with dogs, and several of them are using Dogos as "catch dogs". They are very effective.

That is wild to think about... 5 million wild pigs in one state! I would totally be into hunting them if I were local to a population of feral pigs & wild boars. Heck, now I kinda want to check out Texas, LOL!

I don't know about Ferel hogs, but I do know in Tucson they have problems with javelena. I had an uncle who lived down south and they would go out and hunt them to control the population. Got really bad at times and they are very agressive.
