Desert run

I got up a bit early this morning (it's dark when I start my day) to put some oil in my clunker, then head to work. So, I let the dogs out for a desert run..there is always something to investigate.

Went to the garage, got the oil went to the car and put it in. Then I dropped the hood. Uh oh. I heard them coming just a bit before I saw them. WOOF, not a bark, not a growl just woof. So, I pounded my fist on the roof of the car and the young male (he is about 10 months) took the lead and came running. While they both let me know that they were there to protect their turf, the male was most impressive. He was not happy. Of course they both backed down when I spoke, but it was still an interesting way to start a morning.

I did this alot with my wife's Fila. He was incorrect in temperament and conformation. I work odd hours so I would make a fuss at the door and he would come running. 170lbs roaring to the door barking that would rattle the windows. Open the door and speak to him and it was 'auto-Scooby-Doo'. This dog never met the first person he did not like. He would put on a blood curdling display but if one were to open the door he had just found his next best friend. With what he brought to the door that was about as much home security as anyone would ever need. The female we had, on the other hand, observed his outbursts and would just stand at the door and look. If it were someone that did not live here she would damn near tear the door down or knock the glass out of the storm door. We had both ends of the spectrum with those two. S
