Hello, I own a 2 year old cane corso who weighs just over 50kg and have been told he is overweight by a vet when researching this is standard for a cane corso can someone give me insight on this
Do you have any photos? Even without any I would say no not at all! My Corso is probably around 140 . Last time I had him weighed he was 108lb a week before 9 months. I have my dog out everyday working out running and on walks and definitely doesn’t look overweight at all!

So he’s roughly 54kg and vets told me to reduce his food by 10% I then asked what grams I feed him and he said I don’t know. Does not fill me with any confidence his knowledge.

From that pic he looks perfect, if you can post one from the side id see better but he doesnt look overweight,
The weight hes at hes on par with my older boys.
Has your vet got experience with the breed, if your not happy, use another vet.
Love your boys colour, my boy gandalf was that colour, .
I find body condition to be a better way to judge than the number on the scale. See where your boy falls on the chart and go from there. One is for large breeds and one is for giant breeds.

Thank you, he was more gray when he was a puppy. I have a side picture but not the best one, I don’t think any of the vets near me have experience which this breed I would love to find a vet that does.
