Cane Corso Maturity

I've heard they are matured anytime from 1.5-3 years. Is there a narrower time period than that? What are your thoughts on neutering? My original plan was to wait until he was matured because I have heard they need the extra testosterone.

Here's some pics because I never post.

I think it is very dependent on the lines your dog is from.
I personally would try to wait until 18 months to neuter, but that is up to you and your contract.
Your breeder would be able to best tell you about your dog and how others in the family have matured.
I know my girl is 2 years and 3 months and is now starting to mentally mature :) But physically she still has a way to go.
Thanks for the pictures, he is a handsome boy :D
I love the 0 mouth picture, that look is so familiar

Wow he sure has gotten big! He is looking quite handsome! I would wait as long as your contact/breeder allows. Let him grow into that body and develop and then fix him if you want.

Thanks for all the help and complements. I was going to wait at least until 18 months before neutering and wouldn't even consider it if it weren't for the health issues related to them staying unaltered.

Have any of you had issue with yours having dry skin (only noticeable when I comb him) and scratching quiet a bit? He's been on the same food (Holistic Select) for a while but I'm wondering if it could have something to do with that or maybe just another type of allergy.

Dry skin can come from several sources, the food could be the issue, it could be seasonal (if you are in a climate that starts to get that drying winter air, killer on humans as well as dog skin, to something more difficult to deal with like an allergy to something) Have you tried bathing him with an oatmeal based shampoo so it will help keep some of the moisture in. You can try changing the food if you think that is the issue or adding some Omega capsules to it to increase the fatty acids he is getting at the moment. I wouldn't panic too much yet. Try some of the easy things first and if it persists then take it from there.

Winter brings dry skin with it. Oscar gets dandruffy if we don't give him something oil every now and then ... I made an enormous batch of Satin Balls earlier this year and froze them. He gets about one a day and it seems to keep his skin from getting too dry. I'd rule that out before worrying too much about allergies. Does your CC have pinkish welts on his skin (face, neck, inner legs) or extra mucous (goopy ears, yucky eyes)?

Wanted to add my corso was about 2.5 years when he reached maturity. I would wait as long as you can to neuter (3-4 years if possible)
