buying puppy with no papers!!!

Hey guys.
new to the CC world and this forum. I’ve been wanting a CC for many years and I’m finally getting one. We have found a local lady who had purchased puppies to breed but didn’t realize what she was getting into and is now selling them.
she has no papers stating pedigree (to avoid a no breeding contract from whoever she got the puppies from) and I just want to make sure the puppy I’m spending 1000’s on looks pure bred and healthy size and weight to current owners such as yourselves.
thanks so much !
She is 5 months

You could have a DNA test done on her to see what she really is. That will cost a lot of money though.
Ya that would be too much. I’m trying to contact the breeder she bought from. But no luck. In Ontario the going rate for this breed is $3000-$3500. I want to make sure I’m getting what I’m paying for with pedigree

I paid half that recently in US and have AKC papers and breeding rights.

Seems like a bad deal with no papers

If it was me i would be cautious. You say youve tried to get hold of the breeder any decent breeder would be available to contact,
She looks like a cc, but id want to see pics of both parents at the very least, as the lady got any pics of the advert she purchased it from.

Nice looking pup! Would I pay 1k for the pup? Quite possibly if I loved what I saw from the parents etc.....

But if I really wanted the pup and I wanted a purebread...... I would gladly spend the $50-$100 bucks on a DNA test. Think of it this way...It's a small price to pay for price of mind and if the pup isn't what you wanted you saved $9-$950!
