broke through the fence...

You'd be surprised with some dogs. One of my friends dogs' tore the fender on his truck like they did your fence! lol

He was real happy with that one. I'll take a photo next time I go over.

well the bloody fence is done - reinforced on both sides, no way to get out of it and HOWEVER now they won't be out without my supervision - at all. And not allowed to roam free in the yard - at all! Good days are gone, pups!
I'm really pissed off....

correct. I feel somehow sorry for the girls, who didn't do anything wrong (yet!) - but the sooner they learn, the better. I can't afford to let Jack teach them bad habits - especially aggression.

I also think the earlier they learn it the better ingrained in the mind. The more apt, and the more likely that they will listen next time things are not going as planned.

You aren't "punishing" them. You are teaching good habits and saving their lives.

I understand. My dogs don't get access to the front yard for the same reason: I want to supervise their interaction with people or other dogs, even through the fence. The back yard (approx 1000 mp) is fully secluded, no neighbors on one side and an empty paddock in the back. It's not visible from the street and the only access point is though the house. From my pov, the perfect playground for my dogs, with access to half of the house as well so they can get back inside and eat/drink/sleep or whatever. I never expected them to break the iron panels, though. They're much more sturdy than the main entry door, for example... so I wonder what they can not break when I'm not home, then... (if they really want!)

The back yard (with the damaged panel visible in the background):

Ahhh I love this picture! They are too cute! Sorry about your fence though.

Jack: "Help me! Help me! I'm being savaged by the Neo beasts."

Sophia: "Really? The drama. Seriously."
