15 weeks and adorable. I always hear "aren't great Danes dumb?" How do you respond to this? I also of course get "gonna need a saddle", "they have so many health problems" and "can it swim" ...wow people...

What a cutie. My response to the 'dumb' question is to describe some of the things she has done. Of course, Jersey uses her brains for evil, at least orneriness. The saddle comment, I just ignore.

You should find someone who can sew you a mock saddle and take a picture of the dog wearing it, keep it in your cell phone and when someone says where is the saddle you show it to them.

I just love Danes, what a cutie. I would reply to the whole dumb thing grrr, no they are not dumb, but need an owner that is smart enough to train them

What a cutie! It is nice to see another Dane owner. I have a almost two year old male English Mastiff and a 8 month old male Great dane. Magnum is super smart and I would answer that with "Smarter than you are so what does that say?" I get the saddle thing with my boys all of the time.

I can't believe someone would ask if they are dumb. I did have someone ask if my Dogo Argentino was an Airdale Terrier, LOL.

I have to admit though, he was drunk and it was at a 7-11!
