Boerboels in action

LOL, You do know why right? Look at your dog and look at this BB again. There are a lot of BBs that have heavy BM influence. He is a good looking dog too.

That's exactly why. :) I like the beefy dogs. (didn't know about the BM influence though)

Well after looking at most of there dogs I would not buy any of them. Even for cheap. Except to get them some needed attention or in a better place. Did you see the skin problems on all the adult dogs? Looks like they might be using cages with concrete floors. The males have huge granulomas and one had a big fleshy tumor looking like thing on it's right shoulder.
There was 1 I thought looked like the stuff I like but then saw he had skin issues too. Structurally they seem like nice dogs. It is really a shame though as I have heard Copperhead is a good name.

As for the BM influence. Lots of the BB UK dogs are heavy BM (Ysterberg Mastiff Lines). They like them like that. The BB was not originally supposed to go that direction. It was supposed to be a Mastiff of Moderate size with great mobility and agility with a high protective drive for farm work and family protection.

I love how Dovah just switched off after she was done biting. I wish that video in Afrika didn't have the dutch overlay it would have been nice to hear the handlers words. Also I noticed those Boerboels were the leggy real farm type dogs (Piona line) very agile dogs that don't tire out easily. Thanks for posting these Brad.

Have you seen the pictures I've posted of Buteo? He was a male that lived with me for a bit after Parka passed. He was very rangy. He was the strongest dog I've ever lived with.

short translation:

The dogs are not impressed by many criminals shouting and waving with big knives, this is actually the caracterisics they ( the policemen that work with the dogs are looking for.

The dogs are not meant to kill the criminals, but to hand them over to the police, although they could kill them as well.
The meaning of the dogs are in the first place to discourage the criminals to even start to do something wrong .
When you call for help the dog should respond at once and without hesitation, against any criminal(s)

every month a few dogs get injured from their encounter with criminals, most of the dogs cure amazingly very well without any help needed.

Yep great looking dog. Good balance of long bones and muscle, not too much of either. Another thing I noticed is he has a good solid head with just the right amount of lip. Some of the newer ones have big flappy lips and small nostrils, not really good for hot or high altitudes.

Yea, he had a great head. Big and solid but not too wet. This dog could keep up with me on my bike at 25+mph in the summer... He would pull me too.

I LOVED Parka, but in many ways Buteo was probably the better fit for my lifestyle... unfortunately he wanted to eat my spitzy dogs tho, so he didn't work out.

That's what he looked like when we got him. He was thin. The first pic I posted of him was how he looked just before he left us and went to his new home.
