Boerboel weight and exercise

Hello mastiff owners, I recently got a Boerboel and Tibetan mastiff crossbreed, he is now 6 months, and I was wondering how much did your BB’s way at 6 months and now. And how much exercise do you give them? He is 41.5kg at 6 months and goes on a 30 min walk twice a day.

Congratulations on your pup! Would love to see pics. I have a 11 month old Boerboel. She is our first “giant” breed although we’ve had many large dogs. She is 130 lbs and stands at 25. She is a tall girl and we keep her lean. Ive received great advice from the thread when she came to us at 8 weeks. The walks were slow and natural (on leash) with her trotting and me keeping up for short and familiar places. Now- trotting (her natural gait) for about 1.2 miles in the morning and 1.2 miles in the evening with play time in between. I hope this helps although each dog is so different. My girl has been very active from the start. Maybe someone who has experience with a Tibetan x BB can give you better advice. Looking forward to seeing pics and all the best!

Thanks for the reply, I have increased his walks to about a mile each, I am trying to include a photo of him at 7 months but the site is saying file too big.

Congratulations on your pup!

beautiful boy you have there.

I would say a mile each day is good. Definitely not overdoing it.
My guy is 7 months he will do 2 miles with ease. Although I keep his walks to a minimum to protect his joints. Just yard playtime for him mainly. One to two “long” walks a month. Around an hour or so which he enjoys then sleeps for two days lol.
