Boerboel owners?

Just wondering how many other Boerboel owners there are here? Where did you get your Boerboel from?

I "think" I'm a boerboel owner.. Chumah is around a year old and I rescued him when he was around 11months from a neglectful situation. After all the research on mastiff breeds and what breeders are around my area, I came to the conclusion he is a Boerboel or Boerboel mix. The pictures were taken two days ago.

Future boerboel owner (later this year) *fingers crossed* does that count? or are you looking for experience with certain breeders?

Not yet but I think one is next on my list! I've met quite a few in the last yer and they've all been great, a woman down the street from me has one, he's 6 months old and a great playmate for Branka :)

I think so. I think he is a Boerboel mix. I read somewhere that they have black skin and I was looking at his skin yesterday and the skin on his back appears light in color but on his face/belly/feet its black. A few of these breeds look similar but I'm just going with Boerboel due to the decent amount of breeders around here.

mine is a boerboel x american bulldog... only 12 weeks old but has the same markings as above photo.... is that one pure or cross?

she has same dark ears getting darker as they go down, same dark mouth and dark mask getting lighter near the eyes, same darker fawn on the back, same patch of black on the same place of the tail, nose is right on the tip of her face.... though is not as long...could be because shes a pup or the ambull in her but i think she looks alot more boer than bull.

Bobberbiker : Chumah, the one pictured Above your pup is probably a mix. I really don't know exactly what he is since he is a rescue. From the photos and breeder sites I've been to he looks pure (depending on which breeder I look at). I found a couple that had dogs that looked exactly like him and then there are others that have dogs that look nothing like him.

Did you decide not to tell us? I promise I won't judge... I'm just curious. But, if it's too personal, no worries! :)

It's looking like we may get another BB too, a female... I'm pretty excited about it. :)

It will probably be 4 or more years from now, I have 3 dogs right now and that's my limmit, if my Dobe is the 1st to go, which is likely, I'll be replacing him with another Dobe. My hound or Branka will probably be replaced with a Neo and a BB. Branka's only 12 months, and my hound is 8, but I've heard of Beagle/Bassets living to 16-17! So who knows, the little $hit might outlast them all! So I'm guessing my next 3 will go Dobe, BB, Neo...

And when I get one there will be LOTS of photos! :)

This is our Boerboel Pup Gus waiting for a friend to come to the door. He is around 7 months old in the photo. If you decide to get a Boerboel be prepared to answer questions. Every time we go for a walk I feel as if we are on a traveling lecture circuit promoting Boerboels. But that is part of the fun. The breed is unique enough to have people come up and inquire about.
In the 6 months that we have had Gus I have had 3 people come up and ask if he is a Boerboel by breed. One person from England one person from Ireland and most recently a person from America who was looking for a Boerboel for his next dog. Gus came from Dekken Kennels just south of Harrisburg Pa. He has the lightest face mask of all his litter mates.
