I bought a Dogue de Bordeaux from a Kristie Jones in Kentucky and she lied about his temperament. What recourses do I have to try and get my money back. She first said she would take him back but of course that was a lie too. I Might have to turn him over to rescue. Any suggestions?
First. i would always check consumer sites for reports before purchasing any dog. like rip off report. Secondly what is the dogs temperament? Bordeaux can have high guard instinct and do require training and EARLY socialization. If do nothing with your dog the first six months your gonna have a problem on your hands. Exposing them to new situations at an early age builds confidence and trust.
If you can give us a rough idea of what your dog is doing people here may have some suggestions. And if your dead set on rescue we can help there too. Temperament is a 50/50 . 50%of it is your dogs nature and 50% is what we are doing with that personality.generaly DDB are great with children , protective , moderate energy, and if you spend little time with them and yard our house them most of the day .come home and give them a few scratches in the evening they will become guarded ,frustrated and fearful.they can be Dog and person aggressive males can be really bad in this reguard. this is why you socialization is very very important. what is the name of the kennel, ? do they health screen? and did you do a bit a research before you purchased?
