Bad breathe

Knox has been on his raw food for over a year now I think and he has stinky breathe. His teeth are gorgeous white Is there anytjing I can give him to help? Being raw fed obviously the eucalyptus milky bones aren't an option. It isn't room clearing but not pleasant face to face.

It could be his jowls instead of his breath. Try cleaning his jowls after eating and drinking water. To start, wipe his jowls with a solution of about 50% apple cider vinegar and 50% water and do this once a day until the smell dissipates. Wipe his jowls dry after eating and drinking water to keep out the moisture.

Make sure he doesn't have anything caught between his teeth too.

My dogs are raw fed and their breath stinks. Hector's stink the most. Ginger's stink because she's old and her teeth are getting bad. I give them some kibble or crunchy snacks and that seems to help.

Unless you're a 100% raw-fed-philosophy type person (which I'm not), you can still give store bought 'cookies' if your dog tolerates them.

I'm musicdeb and ruthcatrin, check the jowls and for food bits caught in the teeth.

My 3 are all raw fed and I have noticed quite the opposite in that they all have pleasant breath as far as dog breath goes.

Yah, neither of mine have bad breathe either. Even if Arty just dug up one of the really nasty pieces that he hid somewhere and ate it. An hour later his breathe is fine.
