Apple picking (yes, the dog!)

Yogi loves to eat the apples that fall from the tree... when he went out to the yard and there weren't any on the ground, he decided to pick them himself!

They are too much. Have you ever had issues with him eating the core or seeds?

No, he hasn't had any issues so far. The apples started falling pretty recently, though. I do try to get out there and pick them up evey day, so they don't get too many. After he managed to pick and eat 3 on his own, I picked all the rest that I could reach just to make sure.

LOL!
Denna picks her own berries, but probably a good thing we don't have an apple tree.
She ate so many off the ground at my MIL's house (a bit over-ripe perhaps??), that she had the runs for 4 days. ;)

Kryten does that too. The crab apple tree was so loaded this year that branches that should be over 6 feet above the ground were down to about 3.5 feet so he didn't even need to jump, he just had to lift his head.

We had a peach tree in the backyard of the property we are about to move out of and it was a nightmare. They were like mini peaches and the dogs LOVED them. Even when I was at my most vigilant Betty would sneak a hand full of the ground like a whale eating plankton. I found multiple poos that were at least 50% pits.... at least she wasn't breaking down the pits, but it was like cleaning up after a horse. She would even ring the potty bell as a ruse just to go out and hoover some more peaches.

Very happy the new property is void of fruit bearing nightmares.

Now thats to damn funny lol. I used to have a rat terrier named Mijita (me-he-ta) and a crab apple tree. She was such a priss about it though. She would walk around them all so as to not get dirty.

R.I.P. Mijita and Scooby. We still love you and think about you.

The problem with our apple tree is not the apples attract the dogs, but the wasps that the dogue is so allergic to.

Oh no, that sucks! We have wasps, don't even get me started on those... they build nests under and inside the deck railing, all they way down the stairs. I have sprayed and then knocked down up to 16 at a time. And the dogs and kid have to go up and down those stairs every time they go out to the yard. But fortunately, no one, dogs or people are allergic!

My Chevy (English Mastiff) picks up the fallen crab apples off the yard from our decorative, likes to munch on fallen acorns, and none of this seems to bother his digestion....amazingly. We had to pull a dead toad out of his mouth last night on a walk....the dumb dried toad has been sitting squashed and dried in the intersection for several days, and Chevy remembers the exact spot.
