Apollo's first show

Its supposed to be a side on shot to show the stance. Dogs are presented to the judges the same way (left side to the judge), and are only face on if the judge looks from that direction till the end of the down and back when they are finally presented head on.

And thank you!

Interesting picture Ruth, Apollo looks great!

Hey how come dogs are always faced away from the photos?

I was just reminded that I asked the same question a while back, and my previous answer only kinda answers the question. A proper stance shows how well, or badly, the dog is put together. How the topline sits, head proportions, height to length comparison, if the legs make the proper angles.....all things that indicated a well put together, or badly put together, dog. Its the same reason they TROTT around the ring, not run. A properly paced trott shows how the dog is put together.

I can understand that aspect.

The dog just seems like an statue though, its a team effort I want my dog in the picture "with" me. Both should be "smiling" at the camera. :)

Considering the genetic lines behind them I'd be surprised if any of the pups from that litter DIDN"T turn out stunning frankly. What I find interesting is the variance in color. Apollo's shading is quite rich red-gold, while Sunshine and Aslan are both fairly pale with heavier sable (although Apollo's is darkening I noticed just recently). I've only the pictures of Athena to compare for the black and tan pups, but mom's "tan" was very rich red-tan, and based on what we saw when we picked up Apollo I'm betting there's as much variation there as there is with the gold pups.
