Oooo really? I might take the drive down there just to take a look at my first TM. :D

Aslan's stunning, if you're not so far out that its a huge trip it would be SO worth it: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...16853756.2090622.1411980534&type=1&permPage=1

Awww he looked good! Crappy pics or not it was still awesome to see him in the ring!

Today went MUCH smoother. Though he still wouldn't hop up onto the ramp for the judge with the bad back (who did our group ring today). And of course, we get home, and he's up on the coffee table in two seconds *rolls eyes*. He's a nut.....

Great pics, so what if they are a tad blurry :) and glad it got easier!
Lol, Black Jack stacks the same when he sees Ron, just don't let anyone know your hubby is standing there, or moving around the ring lol, is called double handling and frowned upon. Happens A LOT with GSD's and causes an uproar. We actually have to hide while the dog is in the ring or he gets too busy looking for us.
Keep going and are you doing handling classes?
Even though a friend of mine handles for me in the ring, I go to class with both dogs every week.
Just to get them in the mindset and used to the dogs around.
At the last show we went to, in group all the dogs came in, circled once then the judge made his cut of 7 dogs.
It was only those 7 that he went over.
Is not normal, but was nice. No time wasted, he knew what he was looking for, and there was the room to move.
I can say that cause we made the 7 :D

Cody I was mostly joking, but good to know its frowned apon just in case! I think we'll stick with the other one hiding though, its easier. I SHOULD have predicted his reaction, but yah know how that goes....

We have been doing handling classes. Not as frequently as I'd like, but we have. Course he's perky and cheerfull and non-stressed there....

Ah, oh well, I'll see if I can copy over the photo later, Aslan's just stunning.

When we picked up Apollo (age 10weeks) he was 25lbs, Aslan was 30, and noticably larger than the other pups. Susie said he was larger than everyone else at birth too. She didn't expect it to last, but it did, and he's turned into a stunning dog. Course, so did the rest of the litter, at least those I've seen pictures for!

Susie picked out Apollo for us. We weren't close enough to visit prior to picking him up, and she had reservations for almost all the pups in the litter, several of them for specific combinations of gender and color, so she couldn't wait for us to choose when we came down when they were 10weeks. She runs on a strict first come first serve, and since we got our reservation in fairly early we got one of the "first picks". She asked us ALOT of questions about what we wanted, and what our experience was, and our lifestyle and made the decision for us. We didn't care about color, but wanted a male. And I can't complain, she made an awesome choice for us. In some ways I wish we COULD have chosen for ourselves, but I'm ok with the results of her pick!

The picture from the Facebook page I was trying to link to, this is Susie handling Aslan as breeder/owner/handler this past September (remember, he's not filled out yet any more than Apollo has.....):

Ruth - Aslan is a very impressive looking dog but I prefer Apollo's face and expression. I have no idea what the TM standard is but to me Apollo's head and his eyes in particular are quite handsome, I'm not as fond of the squinty eyes Aslan seems to have. Hopefully your next show will go even better now that you are more familiar with the drill.

I have to agree here also. For some strange reason the first thing I think of when I look at Aslan is wolf. I have no idea why. The first thing I think of when I look at Apollo's face is teddy bear. Lol

heh. I'm partial to Apollo too. To be fair to Aslan I think he's facing into the sun in that picture. Though as I go back to look at some pictures she sent of him when he was a year old he does have a heavier brow which gives him a bit of a squint look. But yah, Apollo is the big teddy bear while Aslan is the impressive muscle!
