Haha ringing a doorbell would be awesome, do you know how one would train his dog to do this? Also not to sound like a scaredy cat, but Abel barks at the hallway a lot especially at night. The house I live in was built in the late 1800's and there's literally only 1 thing I'm afraid of, and yes it's ghosts as weird as that sounds. I'm not afraid of heights, bugs, rodents, people, but when it comes to ghost I'll leave people behind as I'll be the first one out haha. So what's the deal with his barking at nothing in the hallway or stairs? I lower the sound on my tv later in the night, and hear nothing, he'll just get up bark, and growl at the dark hallway or stairs... Or am I just being paranoid?

Abel needs a bigger toy, should I give him a kitten? There's a whole family of strays in the shopping center down the street. Would the kitten hurt him with claws or is eating the kitten bad for him? I can declaw the kitten before I give it to Abel.

Thanks,
Ray

For the most part Abel goes potty when told, sometimes he only poops every other meal. He also waits like an hour after meals, if I bring him out any earlier I would just have to go back in a wait. He still doesn't have a definite way of alerting me that he needs to go out. Sometimes he goes in between my legs with his tail between his legs and follows every step I make, sometimes he'll sit by the door, sometimes he just starts going. Is there a way to train him to cry by the door? Haha

Cisco is adorable, how old is he now?

He is 9 weeks and two days. This is a picture from today.

After I could trust Cheeno not to have an accident, I bought a 38" tall gate and I just keep increasing the area that he is allowed to roam free in. His crate is in there, with the door open for him to go in at his leisure.

Thank you, I will give that a shot, he hasn't had a accident yet this week (knock on wood) but I still don't trust that he wont have an accident, haha

His room in the living room, it's a little bigger than his 48 crate, I don't know if he'll outgrow it though :/

Haha thanks guys :)

I've been contemplating on getting Abel a playmate. Though I've been more on the side of fostering a dog. Would this be a bad idea? I read the newer thread in this section on getting a friend/playmate.

If it were me, I would bond with him for a while before introducing another dog. If not, the dogs will bond to each other.

Ok I will hold off on fostering. And Bella is gorgeous, I would say they should meet but looks like you may not be nearby...
