Today I took my Dozer to the Rainbow Bridge Gate to be with his Father Duncan, Pepsi, Storm and his brother Maximus. No more pain. Yesterday when i returned from the vet with Crusher it was easy to see Dozer had some sort of event either a stroke or fall, or maybe trampled by Jade and Odi. His head was tilted to the side and he was stumbling and sometimes dragging his back legs. I got him resting inside but just touching him anywhere past the top of his head and he would just cry out every 5 or 10 minutes. It looked like his shoulder was dislocated or he had a growth. After awhile I could see his whole upper body was enlarged and hard. It was a rough night for us both but I knew it was time he was 14 years old. This morning I fixed him pan fried steak scrambled eggs and some fried chicken breast. I sneaked him a pair of aspirin in some cheese and let him rest a bit before I took him in. He passed before they got the second shot in him it was obvious that his heart was giving out and the vet thought as I did that something had grown in his chest and was crowding his heart and lungs. I have cried hard and will probably do so again but there is some joy to know he is no longer suffering and has now Joined Duncan at their pond. I have asked God to move it to the bridges meadow and I am sure he has done this for these 2 wonderful dogs that filled my heart with joy for almost 16 years. There is no RIP for these 2 as I feel they are tearing it up in full party fashion and having a grand old time.
The Rainbow Bridge
“There’s a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge is a verdant land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet passes, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. Old and ill and frail animals are made whole. They play all day with each other in the beautiful sunshine.
They are happy and content, but there is one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day, they run and play until the day comes when suddenly, one stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated….â€
