A TM, in stages of blowout

Where her coat otherwise looks good....if she's not itchy, not gassy, no changes in poop, etc, then it may just be her doing the rest of her puppy shed. Or maybe she's not really a TM but instead one of the other working LGDs that has a double shed instead of a single (or thats how her mixed up genes interpreted it). My Singing dog has a double shed and he's definitely in his 2nd shed right now and it is a mostly outer coat shed. For that matter I've seen a few long time TM people mention that occasionally there'll be a TM who'll double shed instead of a single, so it could even be that.

Oh, the lady who has Apollo's sister says that both of her males are shedding now too. So it could be a weather thing, just like every TM I know had a seriously screwed up shed last year. For that matter, last night after posting I noticed that Apollo had some loose outercoat. Not tons, but enough to notice.

Ok, I'm calling slightly screwy shed. Apollo's britches had never totally shed out, I'd mostly shruged it off. But they just let go all at once.....

I kept forgetting to take naked tail pictures, so here's a mostly naked tail picture:

Yes, I said "mostly". He's started to grow back in his winter plush.....

Ah! That tail still looks very fluffy compared to the poor pup I saw. The tail had very short hair on it - looked like a skinny rat tail. I think the poor pup probably had a skin condition and lost the fur on it's tail.

Yah, mind, some TMs will loose the feathering on their tails too, but even then there's still ALOT of shorter stuff on the tail making it look fluffy. So yah, the dog either has a skin condition or the guy shaved the tail (which like I said before, wouldn't surprise me).

Crap. Though I do think it's the food+ the weather skrewing with her fur-- looking at her tail-I don't think it let go or at least not all of it-doesn't look straggly.
I read the ingredients in the food & the 1st 5 ingredients are chicken, then fish & other stuff. The other one had all fish, so I should've expected this.
Every time I have changed her food her coat changes a bit. No skin condition.

Her britches were a bitch & matted so fast, I had to cut some out--she's got enough you can't tell unless you know. LOL compared to the retrievers she was with last week, she has so much more fur, but not as much as the gr pyr up the street.
