9 month old cane corso

I am new to this forum so if I post this in the wrong section or in the wrong way, I apologize.

My wife and I have a gorgeous, male cane corso that just recently turned 9 months old. He eats great, high quality food, and a lot of it. :) His mom weighed about 140lbs, his dad weighed a little more. We did get him from a breeder in Alabama. He weighed in at about 102lbs at the vet a couple of days ago.

But, being new to this breed and still learning some things my wife and I are wondering if he is going to be a cane corso that stays lean like he is now or will he widen and thicken up like we've seen in so many photos of this breed? To us, and maybe because we see him all the time, he seems kind of tall and skinny almost. Obvioulsy we don't want him to get fat, like I said, he eats very well, but we would like to see him thicken up and fill out a little more.

So, are there just some cane corsos that stay very lean and are tall or is this just part of what they go through at this age and then widen, thicken and broaden out in a couple of months?

Like I said, we're new to this breed, and we're just kind of curious because his parents were so big and look like the typical Cane Corso that we have seeing so many times in pictures on the internet.

Thanks for any feedback and we really appreciate it.20150912_154731_001-1-1-1.jpg20150912_155621.jpg20150602_225924-1.jpg20150803_215500-1.jpg2015-07-05 20.26.40-1.jpg

My 2 year old is tall and thin, my 4 year old is shorter and wider ( plump) but she has a condition and doesn't get much exercise.

It's been my experience that your dog will not reach it's mature weight and build until well past 1 year. In some places i've read they can actually continue to grow for their first 2 years depending on the individual. My Hank's first baby Jack(lives across the street) is almost 1.5yo and is just barely catching up to his daddy.

By the look of your pup's head and paws, he's still got some growing to do. Be patient, he's a beautiful boy. He looks like a freakin monster bursting out of the bushes in that last photo with the spittle on the chin.

You won't see him fill out till after he's a year old. 1st year is height. 2nd and third year he will grow out

In my opinion, He is beautiful and heavy enough.
