11 Weeks and small?

I think Mayzee is going to be a small dogue. I've seen pictures of dogues around 12 weeks, and there's no way she'll get that big by next Saturday... She's barely 10 pounds at 11 weeks. I will post pics tomorrow, as my iphone is being weird...

How big were your dogues at 11/12 weeks?

I can't help with the size of DDBs but I do know that you can't assume that because a puppy seems tiny in comparison to others in the breed at a young age that it means they will be tiny when grown. My EM was one of the smallest males for his age when I got him. He was 24 lbs at 11 weeks, others were 35 lbs or more. At 18 months he has passed many of those dogs and is now 175 lbs and still growing. They all grow at the rate that they are supposed to.

I figured that she is "small" because she was a runt so she kind of has to play catch-up. I don't mind either way, whether she turns out big, small, or average for a Bordeaux. I just want her to be healthy and social. :) My brother in law saw the pic of Mayzee and her sister and whistled, "whew, it's the runts that grow to be the biggest." I guess we'll see, lol!

DDB's continue to grow until 2-3 yrs old. You will see a major growth spurt at that time. Were her parents small? Parent's size can influence size of the pup.

Here's the pics I promised. Mayzee is 8 weeks in the picture of her and her littermate; you can see the difference. The other pictures are a few days old. The futon that she's under is only 6 inches tall in the back where she's laying. That's her favorite spot, and it'll be a sad day for her when she's too big to crawl under there, haha!! Her parents were decent sized, I guess; I haven't seen many other DDBs in real life, just pictures...

She is adorable. :)

Mateo was 14 pounds when I picked him up at 8.5 weeks, and started gaining 2 pounds or so each week thereafter.

But, I do know a friend who has a Rough Coat Collie pup who was the smallest in the litter, by a lot. Now, nine months later, he has more than caught up to his sisters and is right on track, growth-wise.

She may surprise you!

our DDB Zeus was the runt was less than half the size of his brothers and sisters, at 8 weeks when we picked him up he was still half the size of our cat, he is more than making up for it now. At nearly 6 months old he is still small in comparison to other DDB his age but certainly catching up weighing in at 52lbs

Cute puppy. My ddb was small for the breed but since we put her on a raw diet she has taken off. She is looking good now so maybe that could be a consideration for you? Yours is still very young so I wouldn't loose too much sleep. Enjoy, they are a fantastic dog!

I have decided to switch her to a raw diet. I go grocery shopping this Friday, so she'll start eating raw on Saturday. I'm so excited!! I know that she growing and getting bigger, you can see it almost every day. She was a preemie (runt), so she's got some catching up to do. :)

My lil Beaux is 18 months old, and weighs 95lbs. I gave up trying to figure if he will continue growing.
His dad was about 130lbs and mom was 105lbs. He has never been a huge eater thou.
