This is appalling that another human is abusing animals and using them for profit. All I can say, "karma is a bitch." May she come back as a dog...

I have no personal dealings with this person but if this is the same person, I read about on Fila forums she was shut down when she was breeding and it was said that she went into rescue to make money. There are Fila people on here that should know more about her. This was all happening when I first got into the breed, so I have limited knowledge and that is only from forums.

I have had a horrible experience as well! In short, they told us the dog was house trained and great with all dogs and microchipped. None of which was true. So within 24 hrs we realized this dog wasn't the best for us so we asked to return him. Trish said sure (5 days later--they took forever to get back to us!) and said but no refund! We paid $350 to adopt him!!
Then she said if we rehomed him that was breach of contract and she'd sue us. AND that if I didn't stop "slandering" on FB then she'd press charges. And admitted that if we returned him should would re-adopt him out for $350 again.
This lady is crazy and a liar! I'm doing everything I can to get others to NOT adopt through her!

Just to let every on her know. Last Friday July 19th 2012, I adopted a dog from Rising Phoenix mastiff Rescue. He was a Great Dane Lab mix. I was led to believe that he was 3 to 4 years in age. He was extremely skinny. She said it was because of the heat wave, that most of her dogs were not really wanting to eat with all the heat, and an upper respiratory infection that was transferred form another dog. She told me he was almost done with his antibiotics and should be feeling much better soon. She gave me the last 2 pills for him in a pouch with the name of another dog on it. I don't think she actually had a vet look at him. I couldn't leave him there with her. So I took him home. She had told me that the adoption fee of $400 was lowered because his foster family loved him so much that they agreed to pay part of it so it went down to $250. I wrote her a check and left. The paperwork she gave me said that he had come from California, though the details were all blacked out with a permanent marker. The age was also obviously changed from a 7 to a 3. I specifically stated that we were looking for a dog who was either a puppy or young dog. The poor dog stunk like mange and was clearly in pain. He didn't eat. He was lethargic, and vomited several times over the weekend. I immediately took him in to the vet this morning Monday July 23. The vet was horrified. He was 50 lbs under weight, both eyes were infected and found that he had an obstruction in his small intestine that she felt had to have been there for at least 2 to 3 weeks. He was in obvious pain because of this. The vet feared that the obstruction had pierced through his intestine and he was in such bad shape that there was almost no hope of saving him even if she could get him dehydrated. As he was then there was no way he would have lived through the anesthesia. We made the hard decision to go ahead and end his suffering. The vet filed a formal complaint with the police and we have an investigation started. I am horrified at the condition that this person allows these pets to be adopted in or even live with. My poor dog had been suffering for a long time with out the proper care. She lied about so many things and didn't not give our dog the proper care he needed. He could have been saved and lived if she would have taken care of his medical needs. My poor children were so sad. My 10 year old was sobbing. Though we only had him a short time he easily fit into our family right away which makes it that much harder knowing the possibilities that could have been if only he had been treated. The police officer was horrified and was going to personally make sure that the investigation went through. I hope that all her dogs are taken and she is shut down for good.

Savina. I am so sorry for your loss and for everything that you, your family and your dog has gone through. I am glad that he found someone who loved him, even if it was in his last moments. I am glad that you are helping with an investigation to get this "rescue" closed down. It is horrible that it is still operating.

I tried finding the facebook page working to close her down but it has disappeared. Does anyone know what happened to it?

Yes, I am very sorry for what you had to go through. However, I can't help but be comforted that you helped a poor dog feel loved in his last hours. Thank you so much for that.

I hope that this person is caught and prosecuted. Please continue to pursue all legal options available to you.

Once again I am so sorry for what you and your family had to go through!

Savina, I'm so sorry about loosing your baby after such a short time. Thank you for showing him love in his last days. I can't believe this rescue still exists. What does it take to get this kind of place shut down?

I have received a few emails regarding this rescue, including a sad one about a pup rescued from there last week that ended up having to be euthanized. I spoke to an officer today for a half hour about Rising Phoenix Mastiff Rescue and he said they don't know where she is keeping the rescue dog's. This is very sad and there are many people complaining about her so I am not undertsanding why she can't be stopped and all dog's rescued? I heard she is under investigation in regards to her 501 status , as well a police report was filed in regards to the pup that died on the 19th.

Would people please call the Yakima Sheriffs dept? Perhaps if enough complaints are filed they will search for her rescue. He said he has been out there multiple times , but the only dog's at her house are her breeding ones and not the rescue ones. Sheriifs 509-574-2500 I believe his name is Officer Sutton.

I believe calling the Sheriff's office would be those who have had experience with this idiot, sorry excuse for a human being lady. Do you know of others who have dealt with her? Maybe those of you on this forum can join together in the fight to shut her down. If Sheriff's office can't find the rescues because she has them hidden means they do not have the resources to do more to find the rescues. It usually takes concerned citizens to do something about this. Just saying...

So sorry to hear about your loss. That poor baby. I unfortunately surrendered one of my great Danes with this "rescue" before finding out how awful they are. I am so worried about her. I have called the Yakima county sheriff's office and they are opening an investigation on her. They asked that everyone that has had bad experiences with them to call. Can everyone here please call them? Let's get these poor animals taken away from her!

Email I recieved 8/15:

Hi Ashley,
My husband called the Yakima County Sheriff's Office today and they are starting an investigation against her. They asked that anyone who has been wronged by RPMR to call the office so they can add it to their report and hopefully get her shut down. The sheriff's number is 509-574-2500 or 800-572-0490. Can you please forward this information on to anybody you know that can add their story to the investigation? I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

I suggest you request from the rescue org. your dog's micro chip identification number and find out where the micro chip was registered. For example. Boo's chip is registered with "Home Again". After the adoption Waggin Train Rescue instructed "Home Again" to transfer the ownership to my name. Waggin Train also sent me copies of Boo's documentation, such as medical history, vaccinations provided and behavior test results. However, I did have to sign a contract that if Waggin Train believes for whatever reason that I had mistreated, neglected or fail to provide medical care, they have the legal right to take back Boo. Did you receive any documentation from your rescue place? Did you sign any contract?

I filed a complaint with the BBB about her fraudulent advertising. She responded by fabricating stories and saying that I was harassing the rescue and that they were getting to the point of filing a restraining order against me. Which is interesting since I am not in contact with her at all. But she didn't address my complaint at all-so I responded to her lies and pointed out to BBB that she didn't address my complaint of fraudulent advertising at all. They closed the complaint saying that the business had made a good faith attempt to resolve the issue but that I was still unhappy. I'm not sure how the BBB could possibly think her response was in good faith. But perhaps if more people complain to them as well as to the Yakima county sheriff's office we can get her shut down.

I did fill out paperwork when we surrendered our girl, but I honestly don't remember what it said. I was really upset about having to surrender her. She was very sweet and loving to us but had some severe aggression issues that we could not correct. I have asked for a copy of what I filled out but have not received it yet.

She is microchipped. I just need to find her documentation...

Just so everyone knows, we have a facebook page for people to share their stories and to work to get her shut down. http://www.facebook.com/groups/472620589439285/
Thanks! I do not belong to facebook. However, if you see anyone post an experience with the rescue, please let me know. I'm working on a summary of complaints and I'm going to contact law enforcement, SPCA and anyone else who will listen about this so called rescue.

I requested to join the awareness group. I'm reading some of the posts and I'm so angry right now. We need to shut that &^%$# woman down!
