Dumbest things someone asked/said about your dog?

What's your top 5?

5) Is that one of those giant pitbulls.
(According to the person giant pitbulls are the largest dogs ever).

4) Is his poop bigger than a normal size dogs?
(Out of the blue, first question from a PetSmart employee. Who asks this to a total stranger off the start?)

3)How can you afford to feed that?
(I work. Want to respond how do you feed those 6 kids?)

2) Don't let him eat me.
(Actually responded,"Morons give him the runs.)

drum roll.

1) Can my child ride him?
(Have been asked this and they where serious, more than once.)

So what is everyone's favorites you get.

Not too many dumb stuff have been said about Hector although a lot of people are intimidated by him. The funniest comment ever made about him was " How much for a pony ride?" as we walked passed a homeless person. I thought it was hilarious because he isn't even that big. Okay the stupidest comment has got to have been "does he bite?" lol

I had someone ask me, seriously, if Ella was a Cocker Spaniel. She was about six months old and 65lbs. I also had an older gentleman riding by on a bike say, "What is that? A Mexican Chihuahua?" He said it like cheewahwah. He then slapped his thigh and almost fell off his bike laughing. That one made me laugh out loud too.

Dumbest comment: you don't walk dogs like him at this hour. If you want to walk him, walk him at night. Said dog was walking perfectly polite, in a leash, on a public street, at nine o'clock in the evening. I'm sorry if my dog, inconveniences you, though, probably not as much as your poorly bred brats enoy me. You really shouldn't have passed on those genes, or at least, keep them on a leash when you take them out.
Funniest comment by, ironically, his vet: he's really big for a lab. My poor little Ruru, the lab...
Most annoying: does he bite- yes, I walk on a leash a dog that weights more than me, without a muzzle, on public streets, while he plots to dismember you. I'm smart like this. And, hey, I will even allow you to pet him, it will bring you close enough for him to not have to give chase, and be too tired for the said dismemberment.
People look at him and see something big and dangerous, I see my cuddly litle bear, that I used to carry everywhere in my arms.

"What is that?"

Duh. A dog. Although sometimes I do tell people she's my pet dragon...apologies to others if said doofuses later assume your dog is also a dragon.

Walking gollom.blue cc. What colour dogs do you mix to get that colour. I just grinned and kept walking.

My mom thought that my boxers' color was called bumble. She was telling people about her daughter's bumble boxers for years. I found out and corrected her. Now she calls them bundle. She truly doesn't have a hearing problem. The word brindle just doesn't stick in her head for some reason.

At least once every time we leave the house some asks "where's the saddle?". I absolutely hate that question.

Once I got asked if I was going to breed my dogs because that would be a cool looking dog. Nope both dogs are boys.

How can you walk that by yourself? while out for a walk. Easy I put on his leash and open the front gate.

The best comment I have gotten was "that is the biggest chihuahua I have ever seen'. So much better than 'that's a big dog'.

I've had people ask me....

"Does he bite?"
As Charlie's tail is wagging his whole body, tongue hanging out in a silly grin, offering his paw in a handshake, and crying to be petted.

No, but he might lick you to death, and drown you in his slobber, lol.

Another one, was:

What is he?
A South African Boerboel, crossed with a Bullmastiff.
Oh, I thought he was a normal Mastiff...
Well, he is, but not an English Mastiff, if that's what you mean...
No, I mean a regular Mastiff, like a Bulldog or a Boxer... o_O

And the best yet....

What breed is he?
A South African Boerboel, crossed with a Bullmastiff.
Oh yea, they're great dogs. My mother in law had a miniature one for years... o_Oo_Oo_O

Hmm...so many to consider. The worst is about ear crops. When my Great Dane was a puppy, several people told me he was a Doberman because only Dobermans get their ears done. Or well after he had been cropped but while we were still posting, they asked me about the "dock" and how his poor ears must hurt (6 months after surgery). Just this week I had my one year old Doberman at Petco, she still has one ear posted and the store employee asked me why I waited so long to do the surgery (I am assuming they were done when she was 8 week, but I just adopted her this last Friday). Once the posting is done, most people tell me how they love that I kept the ears natural. Same people also assume Dobermans are born with short tails.

It wasn't my choice to have the ears cropped, both dogs were purchased on show contracts that required the cropping. While I like the look, I also like natural ears and I don't like all the effort required to post long crops. My current Dane was my first cropped dog and I was totally unprepared for how opinionated strangers would be about it.

Wait, you just adopted a new Doberman and you haven't posted any pictures? You must remedy that situation at once! I want to see her. Please.

We get a few funny ones. First one is my personal favourite. I think saying something back to people is always quite amusing as they aren't expecting it.

Person: What breed is that?
Me: He is a Dogue de Bordeaux.
Person: Oh, I thought he was a fat chocolate labrador.
Me: Already walking away.

Person: You should put a saddle on that.
Me: Why would I saddle a dog?
Person: Well he is the size of a horse.
Me: Where do you come from? I've never seen horses that small.

Person: How do you walk him?
Me: On a collar (or harness) and lead. Why, how do you walk your dog?

Person: What do you feed that?
Me: Dog food, he is a dog.

This one is really funny to say to people with small dogs because their dog is usually yapping when they walk past me and Wilson.
Person: (says out loud to their own dog) Lets stay away from that big dog.
Me: Oh, is your dog aggressive?

The saddle comment followed by what is his name? I thought it was odd and annoying. Like you actually care?

This is a picture of my 8yr old Dogo Argentino 'Bella'. The most baffling comment that I've ever heard while out enjoying a leisurely walk was.

Ignorant neighbour (I.N.): " Pit bulls are banned here you know."

Me: "well, actually they are restricted, but despite the fact that I adore pit bull types...this dog is a Dogo."

I.N: " No. It's a pit bull...it has pit bull nipples!!"

Me:.....(wtf).."uh...no...that's not a thing".

I.N.: "ya look, it's got pit bull nipples!! Someone is going to call the cops on you."

Me: "Well, that would be interesting when they come to the door and can only find my registered Dogo. You need to get your head out of your ass and find out more about dogs if you think they can be identified by their nipples man."

MIND BLOWN!

*He has had Dobermann's before but believes that pit bull types are the devil's spawn. Has threatened to call Childrens Aid because my dogs are obviously pit bulls and they will eat my children. I can't even start with how nuts this old guy is. Apparently now that they've realized that we're actually productive members of our community (part of our children's minor hockey association; in the paper for helping fundraise for kids in the community etc) the harassment has stopped, thank goodness. Can you believe that kind of ignorance though?!

Good grief!!!

Can't help it, but this cracked me up when I read it.....
Pitbull nipples, OH MY GOD!!!

Every time I think of this I have to laugh.

Some people are absolutely craaaazzzy .

I probably would have told him that he has the er....equipment of a miniature Chihuahua, lol o_O.

What a pretty girlie.
Do you happen to have a picture of the Pitbull nipples?
I really wanna see them.... tee hee hee :p:p:p.
