Puppy deposit

The pups are nearly 5 weeks old now and I still haven't been asked for a deposit or been sent out the final copy of the contract. When would a breeder usually do this?

How often do you communicate with the breeder about what puppy you want? Have you been able to see the puppies?

I would think once you tell them you want a puppy and choose a puppy or the puppy chooses you, then you would make the deposit.

Our breeder never took any deposits and did not decide which puppy would be for us (or if we would have a dog at all) up until 8 weeks. It was nerve racking! We signed the contract when she brought him over at 9 weeks. She wanted to make sure we got a dog that was right for us. It all depends on the individual breeder. I would e-mail or call and simply ask the breeder the questions you are wondering about. Many breeders will wait until at least 6 weeks to decide, when the dogs' temperament becomes more apparent.

I would keep in close contact with your breeder so they know howserious and anxious you are.

Yeah I email him and call him a lot ( I try not to contact him more than once or twice per week) we have discussed contracts and deposits before so i don't want to keep bringing it up. I don't get to meet the puppies which sucks and i don't know how many of you are familiar with Australian geography but i live near Perth and he lives near Sydney so it is not reasonable for me to fly over there so I really just have to trust him to make the right decision and send me the right puppy for me :)

Haha that's okay he has narrowed it down to 2 possible puppies for me. One is fawn which is my colour preference but it has a slightly short tail and the other is a perfect example of a mastiff but is an apricot

I love everything puppy but potty training hate doing that.

That's the easiest part!
All other dogs I have had were quick to learn NO and not to do something very quickly or at least not when you are present.
But while Thor understands NO, he's stubborn and do what he's been told not to do cheekily anyway right in front of you until you correct him again!

It's hard for ME to wait 4 weeks for you to get him (more pictures on arrival please!).

Congratulations on the ridiculously cute puppy.
