Presa or Fila crossed with hound ????

Hoping I can get some feedback from the Presa group. I'm trying desperately to figure out what our adorable boy is. The long and short of it (I've written so much under the Fila site) is that his vac papers read Presa Canario, BUT he's got a LOT of hound in him, mostly his face. Body is dipped with higher hind and longer body than he is high, but he has the white markings as described in Fila colouring. Fila folks think he's more Presa. Please have a look at his pics and let me know any thoughts. Although he's been very good up until now, I'm concerned about his maturing temperment. Please have a look at his pics and let me know your thoughts. He's 8 mths, 90 lbs.

looks like yellow lab, english mastiff mix to me.
Tks for your thoughts. I guess once he starts to mature we'll see more of his temp. Right now he's such a sweetheart. He and my pyreneese are best buddies. My rotti is still queen bee and keeps them both in line! I'm beginning to wonder if his mom was crossed with a hound. He has a huge voicebox and I can't let him off a lead because his nose takes over and he'll be gone. My vet is an EM freak and she said for sure he has none in him although like you, we thought that's what he was when we bought him. What can I say.....our hearts melted when we saw him.

oh that face!!! I'd have fallen in love with him too!
I do see yellow lab--but something else is in there too-maybe lab/presa ?

Please don't stress too much about adult temperament. If he's been stable & normal, he should continue to be that way.
At 8 mos he's still got a LOT of puppy in him. Keep working with him.
It's not like you will wake up one morning to a crazy dog. I used to actually FEAR that would happen.
I used to worry Tessa was gonna wake up one morning & be mean or overly guardy, or unpredictable- I put a LOT of time in on the socializing side--

What is it about his temperament that you are worried about-is he showing signs of something that stresses you out?
I'm not a presa person--never owned one--
But Tessa says send him this way--she'd love a play date!
She promises to show him how to be a good swimmer if he doesn't already know!

I have a presa black lab mix. Hes only 13 weeks, but I agree, I think if hes fine now, he will continue to be fine. I also have a fear of a crazy dog over night, but my husband assures me, thatsdogs go crazy when there is no defined alpha, and they are socialized properly. They are breed to be guard dogs, so thats what theyll do. Ours only barks outside and when someone is at the door. They are very smart so as the leader you should be able to keep him in line. Dogs want to please, if you feel he is getting too energetic, start working with him. Give him a reason to be good and get a treat.

Sorry I see yellow lab as well. Not just the color but the head, expression, coat type and that tail... so uncharacteristic for a fila but very much for a lab.

Kinda looks like a lab x boxer to me, but I'm no expert with identifying either. I love his wrinkly head.
