How to get photo's of my Beautiful CC?

I find four commands very helpful in getting good photos of my dogs. "Wait" means pause wherever you are and whatever you are doing, and then I can snap a pic. "Stay" is of course helpful for posed shots. Then there's "watch me" for looking at me and the camera. And "look at that." Which involve me pointing in a direction, then the dog looks in that direction and I can get a side shot or whatever I'm trying to get. The dogs aren't camera shy anymore because they know that cookies happen when the camera comes out. And never, ever underestimate the power of a quality camera. Even so, I take hundreds and expect to be happy with only a handful.

Thanks everyone! I forgot one last thing. Never be too proud to make the most bizarre noises you can come up with. Always a good way to get a pause and head tilt photo.....even if it results in them pouncing on you right after.

My dogs are immune to all my weird noises. I have overused them. But yes this is good advice! And even if you don't have a treat pretend you do. That helps.

Nice pictures. She's so pretty. And those long legs :) She looks like she's tall.
Thanks, yes, she is very tall, that's why I call her my rockette & she's got a cute butt, all the male dogs go after her. ha. ha.... I am working on the pics. She really is beautiful. I get tons of compliments on her. :D

I bet you do get a lot of compliments. She is beautiful, but also somewhat intimidating. She definitely looks like she can handle her own!

Oh yeah, she is very intimidating, people walk on the other side of the street or walk away from us. which is fine by me & she definitely guards me & our home.

Many of you have some amazing pictures? How do you get them? A photographer? How do you make them stay still? Zeela is so beautiful & extremely hard to get a good picture of. My phone camera does no justice. She looks Majestic when she sits upright. I want to get a really great photo of her. any suggestions?

Hey it's still got a pulse, lol.. I have a pretty nice camera set up with several lenses, But, my phone is typically on my pocket.. I find the secret to posting pics your happy with is to take LOTS and lots of frames, this way you trash 20 and keep 1 or 2..

None of mine are professional and most are taken with my phone. I take hundreds and only a handful come out good. To keep them still.... luck and/or bribery. I can always get them still now without bribery but they don't like looking at the camera. They hate the phone/camera and will purposefully look away. Sometimes I can get them to "watch me" despite the camera for a few moments... just long enough. If I have a treat in hand I can always get them to do it.

I agree.. I have to take MANY pics just to get a halfway decent pic.... but it seems like everyone else has professional pics....lol
I just keep trying..

LOL, no she doesn't look any too enthused about those ears.. Long time since I heard the word brook, but it was 40+ years ago we left NY and I don't miss it.. Nice looking setting behind her though.. Nothing like being barefooted on mother earth, she no doubt enjoys the outdoors..

We are in NJ and that's what it is a Brook. LOL, it barely had any water in it this summer - no rain. Good for you! - I am working getting out of this state as soon as I can. I hate NJ and NY! it's a dump!

I’ve only just got my fur baby, in fact today he’s been with us for seven days. I use my Nikon DS3200 camera and I just wait until he’s occupied playing etc & get my camera out sometimes I make strange noises behind the camera to get him to look at me & it seems to work.
