I am feeding Gracie Mae and by the way, she loves to eat!! I like to give her 1/2 boiled egg in the morning with her food, and a table spoon of yogurt at night with her food. She loves it when I give her a little something extra with her food. I don't want to give to many eggs, nor yogurt. I want to add a little something for her lunch but also want it to be something that is healthy and good for growth. I was giving her the other half of the boiled egg but figured it was to much cholesterol. Didn't know if that was true. I have read on threads from here that some of you feed 1 egg per day. If you all will give me a couple of things I can add I would appreciate it. I want to add a lunch mix with food!! Yes I spoil her really bad, but she loves it. Thank you for your opinions.

I don't see any reason why you can't do the other half of the egg. I'll dig out the numbers for you in a minute, but they're not an un-healthy food.

When I fed kibble I used to add homemade meat broth to the kibble. Nothing in it but meat and water, boil till the meat falls apart and put in the fridge or freezer for storage.

Heres the nutient info for hard boiled eggs: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/117 they're really not that bad. Unless she's elderly it wouldn't worry me.

How about salmon oil? I just started using it and my dog LOVES the stuff. I just mix it with his dog food (along with a little warm water) and he eats it right up.

What does she like?

Denna loves getting fruit with her meals... especially berries! She pretty much stripped the raspberry bush in the garden when she found out she could reach the branches. I have a bag of the berry trio from Costco in the freezer mostly just for her (I like berries, too). She also loves apples and carrots... and broccoli... and sweet potato... and bananas... actually, I haven't found anything she doesn't like.

Oh, wait. LIMES. She doesn't like limes. But, if I give it to her, she may cringe... but she WILL eat it! I had to ask her to spit it out... crazy girl.

I hear a lot of dogs love melons, but we haven't tried that one yet.

Good parents always spoil their kiddies! I give Cruiser two tablespoons of plain yogurt at breakfast. PB for a treat. At lunch we add green beans. Dinner we mix in a little of whatever meat we are eating, chicken, tuna, steak, gr beef, etc. and he loves biscuits, bread, small amounts of cooked pasta. We give whole green beans, slices of carrots, apples, pears, watermelon, cantelope, basically veggies or fruits as treats. He is a very spoiled dog!
