That's a great tongue pic!

Kind reminds me of seafood: clams, mussels...a stingray?

Ha! Is that a trickling fountain thingie, in the first pic?

Yes it is...although the dogs believe it's their personal outdoor refreshment station.

Oh, I think I need one of those for the back deck.

I had a drinking fountain inside several years back for the cats, and they loved it but it was so noisy I gave it away.

It's really nice and very quiet. We could run it inside as it doesn't splash.

We added it to the back deck area this year. It looks like a big stone egg, but it's made of some kind of resin. We bought it at the a grocery store, (a Co-op) of all places. It was about $250, which I thought was quite a good price considering it's size. We could probably have built one pretty in expensively and easily with just some rocks, a basin, screen, a little sump pump and some hose....but this was easier and pretty.

It's new enough that I think we still have the box, so I'll find out who the manufacturer is. Might be Canadian, but probably not. They had a really nice product line, and there were three we hummed and hawed over.

That is really cool, I wonder if it wil build up bacteria that might be harmful to the dogs?
How do you replenish the water that evaporates?

We've been leaving it run pretty much constantly all summer, it tops up with rain, and topping it up with city water, which is treated with some chlorine. Dogs won't drink it until it off gasses...what does that say? I figure I'll give it a good cleaning with either Camden tabs, like I used to for sterilizing homemade wine equipment, at the end of the season. But plan to consult Dr. Google first.
