Yappy Hour

I started a "Pub Grub Club" where a few women from work and I get together for beer and food at a pub and judge the restaurant. Yesterday we decided to do a Yappy Hour with our dogs. It was a beautiful day by the lake. In our party was Dakota (2 yr), Zoe (3 yrs) and Prince (11 weeks). Since I recently moved out to the country, she has had very limited socialization so this was good for Kota. Here are some pics:

Isn't it great! If only humans could get along with all of our differences as well as our canine friends do. Yappy Hour looks like a great success. I hope you keep it up.

It was an ok situation. All dogs were well behaved and owners were good at knowing their dogs personalities. Dakota did charge a rat terrier but ignored most dogs. She does not like high energy dogs at all and she enjoys charging dogs to chase them away from me. Shes gotta protect! She is usually fine with puppies and was good with Prince. There was an akita/chow mix named Kodi. Pretty dog with black/silver looking fur and black toung. You can see him at the Tiki bar in the last picture. Kota and Kodi wanted to charge each other to protect their owners. Thank goodness his owner knew what to expect and she left plenty of space between the two when she wanted to talk to me. There was an Airedale when I was leaving who had been attacked by a mastiff in the past and I had to wait until the owner took him down the stairs so we could pass.

One crazy lady just walked right up to Kota and smooshed her face and made kissy noises and baby talk. I pulled my dog away and said bitchily said "She hates that". The lady didn't ask or anything! I thought she was walking to meet her party and I was busy talking to someone else when it happened so I couldn't stop her before it happened. Good thing Dakota knows how to behave when others are idiots.

All in all it was a great time and Dakota had pleanty of french fries.
