Worried about my 5 month Corso's hips

First time Corso owner and absolutely in love with my 5 month old puppy, Luna. I grew up around large breeds and when I had a chance to add a Corso to my own budding family I jumped at the chance.

The said, having grown up with large breeds I'm paranoid about hip dysplasia.

Her butt really shakes when she walks... to the point my friends make fun of her. Is this a puppy thing in Corso's?

Did her parents have their health screens done? If so did you see the reports for them? Is she doing anything other than the swaying kind of walk in the video? Have you had her to the vet to have them manipulate them? Really bad movement can be an indicator but not necessarily a swaying gait indicating that there are hip issues. Your best bet is to have the vet snap a quick X-ray and double check them but at this point if it is hip issues, early supplements, keeping her lean, etc. will allow her to hopefully stay pain-free and drug-free as long as possible.

Both of her parents hips were good, certified by a vet.

We've talked to our vet about them and they don't want to check right now due to how young she is. They mentioned how puppies have far more flexible socks and such and we wouldn't really get a good read on any xrays.

She really isn't doing anything else that would indicate hipe issues other than this video... I've just not see that sort of butt shake in any of the puppies I've had in my life. Perhaps I'm seeing something that isn't there because the last family dog was put down due to hip issues and I'm overly sensitive.

I don't think she has an abnormal amount of sway in her gait, so if she isn't doing anything else and your vet doesn't want to check right now then I would wait it out. If something else comes up that would worry you than take it from there.
