Whole Green Tripe - NEW at Big Dog Natural

Just an quick update...

We are thrilled to announce a welcome addition to our products. WHOLE BEEF GREEN TRIPE, which we purchase from USDA inspected plants, unprocessed, not ground up but the actual whole tripe..
We buy the tripe as whole in order for us to see the real quality of the product and to be sure it does not contain any unwanted offal like lungs, cancer residue, etc...we also wanted to be sure it is beef tripe and not horse or deer tripe, which is way to lean to have any nutritional value.

In order to keep it fresh we use a special procedure to freeze the product quickly to 50lbs blocks and still keep the tripe complete.

The product will be available for your convenience as follows:

  • ground-up and sold as quarter pound medallions, 80 in a box (20lbs), in both pure tripe and tripe complete, the latter being a complete and balanced food.
  • flaked (tripe chips), in individual bags, not sure how many pounds yet, probably 4x 5lbs bags per box.
  • we also can offer the 50lbs tripe block, in 1 inch slices, in this case the tripe is not ground-up, so that you clearly can see what is in it.
  • the 50lbs blocks purchased as a whole, or cut in two or four pieces.

The prices will start at $0.80/lb for the 50lbs block of whole beef tripe, to $1.40/lb for the Beef Tripe Complete - medallions. All other products will vary somewhere in between those two.
