Lol, my husband's fav is to say "No, the Kane Korso is from eye-tally. I own cane Corso, they are an Italian breed."
Lol, but he has a pet peeve about both....

What gets me is the people who argue with you that it's pronounced Cain. I just say oh ok. you must know. <eyeroll>
Was so thrilled when Perry Salkowski pronounced it right on the Dog show that aired on TSN, the one in Abbotsford. I am in alot of it as I was sitting right behind where the judges were judging.
:p
Was very upset no corso's competed for Best in Group that day. Not sure what happened with that, I heard something about the judge but not really sure, like he was judging for a different standard or something. If anyone knows, would love to know what happened.

To me it is fine in people that don't own one and don't have an interest in owning one. But I see no excuse why anyone who owns one would not know the difference. It is one of the first thing that should pop up in your research.

The judge was not judging by the standard that the CKC uses, which is the original standard by Dr. Antonio Morsiani, which includes all 3 bites, reverse scissor preferred. He was using the newer FCI standard which doesn't allow the scissor bite, and IMO favors the Boxerelli Corso. There was quite the controversy, but because he didn't write down his reason, it couldn't be contested. A lot of upset people that day.
I don't really care when ppl say Kane/Cain, unless like Mary said they own one, or are my friends :p
I just answer whatever question with the correct name, and explain that it means dog in Italian. Every one learns somewhere. I have more patience then my hubby.

The correct contraction would be y'all as I was informed by the journalism major in my family who lived her whole life in Texas and went to Baylor. What could I say but Yes Ma'am. ;)

Wow.... 1st I thought the guy was just a guy doing random troll post to upset people, then when he started posting videos and pics I realized he did buy a CC!

Besides all the bad, after the 3rd thread its hilarious how the guy throws a question a lot of people answer and sometimes he just reads/replies to the last post and ask a new question ignoring all the heat he has created, I don't know if he is just naive, a joker, ignores forums etiquette or plain dumb.

I'll chime in a little because my Corso is the first dog of my own but I've been around dogs of all types my whole life. I did good amount of reading about them and the thing I read everywhere was to be firm and let the dog know your in charge. With that said my dog has been zero trouble and I couldn't ask for a better dog, maybe I just got lucky. Now if she doesn't treat the dog right and keep it healthy that's a totally different story.

It isn't so much that it is his first dog or first corso. I don't subscribe to the way of thinking that first time owners are not a fit for a corso. Are all first time owners? NO but there are some very committed people that are interested in this breed, like yourself that make great first time owners of the breed. Would they likely get the most dominant puppy in the litter, certainly not, but then not all of the dogs in the litter are that much of hardasses. Some are softer and could do well in a home that they understand the breed and have done research.

In this guys' case I certainly don't see that. He didn't listen to anything that people said when asking for info... he did whatever he wanted and then has taken it from there. Is he trying to ask some of the right question now? Yes and I certainly hope that he will make an attempt to do what is best for his dog.

I took issue with the fact he was asking the most inane of questions. If you dont know enough not to put 2 dogs in one crate, or to have the dogs share food dishes, he should stick with fish. IMHO.
