Where's Scandifio???

Hello all. This is my first post, new member n all.
So I've been researching breeders near Pittsburgh
Pa & was thrilled to find Bodyguard kennels is only 5
Hrs. Or so away from me. But being the tireless res-
earcher that I am, I was studying pedigrees & still
Comparing kennels when I found a ripoff report from
Someone claiming to have been ripped off by Tony
Scandy of Scandifia fame. Found that odd since he's
so revered in the CC game and have provided many
Fine foundation animals for many breeders today.
Whatever, anyway what caught my eye is they had
Tony listed at an address in North Lima OH which
is less than an hrs. Drive from me!! But when I went
to google his site I got hits for dates around 2009.
When I custom search for past year...nothing. My
question is, is he still in the dog game & still in N. Lima?
Thank in advance.

I believe he is in Youngstown.
As for the term revered, i personally wouldn't sat anyone breeder in the CC comunity is revered. You can find good and bad experiences on most breeders, if you look.

His contact info is at the bottom, easiest way to find him would be that way ;)

Would u say then that it's a toss up whether I get a stable healthy animal from him? I'm not trying to lure anyone into
A smear campaign against anyone. I'm sure you can understand my concern here.
I'm just constantly seeing his name in other breeders dogs and figure that's gotta be good for something ya know. Not interested in show titles btw just good working stock with a certain look I like.

Tony is one of the first breeders of the corso so yes you will see him in the lines of a lot of kennels that have or had American lines (although most are mixing Imports and American so there is less American vs Italian). There are lots of big names out there Bel monte, Castleguard, Scandifio are the ones that kind of have been there from the start so you will see their names out there most often. Bel Monte no longer breeds but there are kennel with some of their dogs still. But both Castleguard and Scandifio are still actively breeding.

Attached is a link that has breeders broken down by state that might help you out some. Not sure when it was updated last but it might help as a starting point.

Above all research, research, research!

Don't for get about Marty (I think)@ Roman. He's been around a while. Personally not a huge fan of the type he's cultivated in his lines. Not to mention he's the most pricey breeder I've ever run across. But he's been doing it for a couple of decades for a reason

I believe that most that get dogs from Tony are very happy with what they get.
He is one of few breeders that does have a temperament guarantee on his dogs.
If he produces the type of dogs you like then by all means speak with him.
His dogs are a pretty good mix of AM and IT lines,he does import a far amount, and seeks out dogs from different kennels.
Good luck on finding the perfect pup for you.

I am currently awaiting birth of a litter sired by a scandiffio named Gabanna. 100 on pen hip score 4 championships and reproductive champion. Stunning dog. Can not wait. His las litter produced some amazing pups. Only good things that I have seen from him.
