When to switch from puppy food

Hi!

Quick question. I am feeding our 14 week EM Acana large breed puppy food and he is gaining on average 4 - 5 pounds a week (at 14 weeks he was 44 pounds). I have read switching them to adult food every range from 4 months to 2 years. Can anyone offer any suggestions on when they switched their puppies? Did the amounts of food change? He is eating 3 times a day 1.5 - 2 cups each time and getting treats like bananas, carrots, strawberries and peanut butter.

We don't actually feed puppy food as we find they grow to fast on it. I know the vets when I got my rotties were saying about 6 months.

We feed the same amount of the Acana ALS to our group 3 times a day and that has them growing plenty fast enough
