What age do you stop puppy food for an EM? I have been told different ages and was hoping to get an actual unvaried number:)

Good luck LOL! There are masses of different opinions here. Some never start puppy food, others only do raw, others stay with it for a while (me). I stayed on puppy unti 9 months, then went to junior until 18 months then to adult.

We fed an all life stages formula right from the start. It was difficult to find puppy formulas with appropriate percentages, even large breed formulas. And from what I understand, you're not really gaining anything extra from a puppy formula. So, my vote is to switch over now.

I don't think the food we are feeding has a junior stage.

With all of my OEM's personally I kept them on a large breed puppy food until around 3 months then tapered off to an adult formula, adding meats, veggies and yogurt. Everyone has a different opinion on the value of puppy foods, it really comes down to personal choice. With my first OEM I kept him on it for 6 months, but with my last 5 made the switch earlier. Did not see much difference between early and later, all developed beautifully!

My EM was on puppy food until I realized that he had an issue with chicken and the food I found to change to was an all life stages food. I don't know how accurate this is or if it translates over to dogs but when I took my new kitten in for her first shots, I told them I was feeding an all life stages food because that is what the other cats were getting. The vet tech said that most all life stages foods are in effect kitten (puppy?) food.
