when to change foods?

Hi! My little big girl, Sookie, is 7 months now... When should I be changing her from puppy to adult food? Right now I have her on Adult Large Breed Science Diet (the pet store said it is fine).. but I'm not sure it was the right time for her to be moved to adult food.. And I'm thinking of changing brands too, to the Blue Buffalo? Is that a good brand. I noticed that the first ingredient is an actual protein and not a grain. Any help would be appreciated!

Check out Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor for kibble rating and customer feedback. When you make a change to a different food, do a slow transition.

Slow transition to the new food is as follows to prevent diarrhea. If at any time during the transition, the pup has diarrhea return to previous amounts of food per feeding.

Amount per feeding:

Day 1-4 ¾ cup of old food and ¼ cup of new food.

Day 5-9 ½ cup of old food and ½ cup of new food.

Day 10-14 ¾ cup of new food and ¼ cup of old food

Day 15 Start 100% of new food
