It varies between breeds. But generally the giant breeds have their adult height by 1.5-2yrs, some earlier. They can still fill out and mature after that. Most male TMs aren't considered fully mature till they're 5yrs.

I can't help with when they stop as my EM is only 10 months but his breeder told me he likely won't reach full size until he's 5. He has stalled in his height right now, he's been 30.75 inches for the past 6 weeks but given his butt is still almost an inch higher I know he will have to start again at some point. Since you asked he is 145 lbs.

My last 3 OEM's reached full height around 1 yr but continued to gain weight until age 3. My current pup is 8 months and is just under 32 inches, I am expecting him to gain another 1-2 inches in height because of his parents size, just estimating. Cruiser weighs about 125lbs and has a long way to go, both of his parents were pretty large, with his dad weighing in at 220, mom at 180.

I haven't weighed Ruger in awhile but he was 149 pounds at 8.5 months (He will be 10 months old tomorrow). The last time I measured him he was 31.75 inches tall. His breeder told me that he should have all of his height by the time he is 2 but may continue to fill out until he is 3 years old. His butt is higher than his head again so here comes another couple inches of height. LOL

DDB - 1st year height 90%. So if final height of male Dogue is 27", then at one year they will be 23-24".

2nd year - gain width, weight, and last 10% height. Will be about 80-90% their final weight.

3rd year - gain width, weight, and skull growth is complete. Most males are 150-160 lbs. Females 110-120.

Of course there are many factors that can cause a dog not to reach his/her potential.

Thank you for that breakdown- I know more what to expect, specifically...especially when people ask "How big is he going to be?"

Mateo is 19 months and 131 pounds (not sure of height; I need to measure that.) His sire was @ 160, but to be honest he was a smidgen over-wieght (although had great muscle tone.) His dam was somewhere near 130, if I remember right. I am guessing my boy will end up being 145-150...we shall see. :)

I've given up guessing where Apollo will end up. The original assumption was 135ish like daddy.....but daddy's taller......but Apollo's already heaftier than the two dogs of similer height/weight who's growth charts I have access to....and he's not fat either, its all muscle.

My dogs aren't nearly as heavy as all of yours, my 1 year old pup is 39 inches at the top of his head and 132 pounds and his dad is 36 inches and 140 pounds. But I don't think either one of them is done filling out. It amazes me that the pup is so much taller than both his parents right now and he looks more like a deer.:D
