When did your CC's growth start to slow?

I've been getting Tessa's weight checked monthly, and thought she may have been slowing down her growth. At 6 months, she was 72 lbs, and at 7 months, she was 76. A 4 lb weight gain over a month was a lot less than she had been gaining, but I figured she was starting to level off her weight. I took her in today, and she's 88 lbs, so she gained 12 lbs in just over a month. So much for slowing down! I'd be happy if she stayed this weight (she almost knocked me out last night during her bath!), but I have a feeling she'll be a pretty big girl. When did you notice that your dogs stopped gaining weight so quickly?

Mudge is just over a year and the tremendous growth has slowed down. He's about 135 lbs now and only gained 5 lbs or so between early June and late July. His head is starting to get larger in proportion to the rest of his body now.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was surprised she had gained that much, because she is looking a lot leaner. She must be shooting up in height. I wonder how much she'll end up topping out at. It's hard to imagine her putting on another 40+ lbs, but I think that's where she will end up!

being Tessa and Jezebel have the same genetics i think she is going to get there, right now at 13 months Jezebel is 125lb and still growing every week she changes she looks so much like her dad it is insane so plan on a 130 -140 pound baby for sure. everyone kept telling me females don't ever go over 120 and i was all great yay and now i look at Jezzy and i see lies she is a beast and is not fat at all she just keeps growing...

She's being a big pain in the butt lately! The kids and I were gone for a week, and my husband spent the week roughhousing with her. Now she's gone insane, and I'll be spending all my free time trying to get her back under control. Time to go back to the basics--NILF, keeping her leashed at all times, and some long walks!

I think Zola stopped growing by a year, and then kind of filled out a little more the last year slowly, but nothing dramatic. I think she was around 80 lbs a 1 1/2, and now she is 2 and only at 88, i know she might fill out over the next year until she hits 3, but she seems like shes done, and I have perfectly happy with that! Her dad was supposedly 180, but I don't see her getting too much bigger. Even the vet said shes a great size and she doesnt need to gain anymore shes in perfect shape. With it being summer shes kind of squared off in the back and isnt as defined as she was when she was more active in the cooler months but he said its fine.
